How to Unlock More Weapons and Forge Scrolls in Blades of Fire
Blades of Fire delivers some of the most satisfying combat mechanics, blending the difficulty of Souls-like games with the fluidity of the latest God of War titles. The depth of the combat system is matched by the dangerous enemies that roam the world. Aran de Lira, the main protagonist, needs to master a variety of stances and weapon types to take down these formidable foes.
Some enemies can be defeated with just about any weapon, but the stronger monsters roaming the world require specific weapon types to be defeated. In this guide, we’ll show you how Aran can unlock more weapons by obtaining Forge Scrolls in Blades of Fire.
How to Get More Forge Scrolls in Blades of Fire
A huge part of Blades of Fire revolves around crafting and forging new weapons for Aran. Each weapon offers a distinct playstyle, whether you prefer quick attacks with daggers or crushing blows with a Warhammer. To forge new weapons, Aran needs to visit an Anvil, but first, he must obtain Forge Scrolls by defeating enemies.

However, there’s a catch—Aran’s young chronicler, Asdo, must be present during battles in order to record the kills in the Forge Scrolls menu. Aran needs to defeat a specific number of enemies to unlock the weapon types related to them. For example, defeating 60 Putrids grants the Claymore Greatsword, while killing five Spearmen unlocks the Long Spear.
There are five weapon types in Blades of Fire:
- Daggers
- Swords
- Greatswords
- Polearms
- Spears
Be sure not to forget about Asdo! If he’s not present, Aran’s kills won’t be recorded, and you won’t be able to unlock new weapons.
How to Call Asdo Into the Field in Blades of Fire
If Asdo isn’t already by Aran’s side, you can summon him from camp. He plays a crucial role in chronicling Aran’s journey, recording his kills in the Forge Scrolls, and providing valuable information about items, secrets, and collectibles in the field. Asdo can also open magically sealed doorways and help uncover hidden lore throughout the game.
To call Asdo, simply press right on the d-pad or the T key on the keyboard. It’s also worth speaking with Asdo regularly, as he offers insightful lore and context about quests, enemies, and other characters. However, be sure to send him back to camp occasionally to update his chronicles and provide additional lore entries, which can be helpful for exploring and understanding the deeper story of Blades of Fire.
Now you’re ready to forge ahead and unlock a variety of weapon types, giving you more power and versatility in your battles!
