A new Genshin Impact leak suggests that fan-favorite Dainsleif may finally become playable in Version 5.7, with a fresh in-game model sparking speculation.

A fresh Genshin Impact leak is stirring up excitement, hinting that one of the game’s most highly-anticipated characters might finally be joining the roster.

Yep, we’re talking about Dainsleif. A new character model has surfaced, sparking rumors that his playable debut could be just around the corner.

Genshin Impact has come a long way since its launch over four years ago, introducing a huge lineup of characters—99 to be exact.

And with Version 5.7, that number officially crosses the 100 mark, thanks to the addition of Skirk and Dahlia. Now, it seems like Dainsleif, a fan-favorite shrouded in mystery, could be next in line.

Genshin Impact Chart Reveals Massive Sales Gap Between Escoffier and Navia

Dainsleif made his first appearance way back in Version 1.3 during the “Bough Keeper: Dainsleif” quest.

Since then, he’s popped up in several Archon Quest Interludes, always playing a key role in the backstory of the Traveler and their sibling.

We also know he hails from the ancient civilization of Khaenri’ah, which only adds to his allure. Although it was confirmed early on that he’d eventually be playable, HoYoverse has kept him just out of reach—until now, maybe.

According to a leak shared on the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit, Version 5.7’s files include a new model labeled “Avatar_Male_Sword_Dainsleif_Model.”

This naming pattern typically aligns with playable characters, and while the design looks similar to what we’ve seen before, the sword reference is definitely catching attention.

So what does this mean? Well, the introduction of a new model could hint at a few different things. For one, it might mean Dainsleif will be involved in upcoming story content.

Take Pyro Archon Mavuika, for example—she got a new model before her release and even showed up as a playable character during a portion of Natlan’s Archon Quest.

She became officially playable just two patches later. If the same pattern holds, Dainsleif might not be far behind.

Version 5.7, which drops on June 18, is expected to be packed with big story developments, especially surrounding Khaenri’ah.

Alongside Dainsleif’s potential appearance, the patch will add Skirk—a disciple of one of The Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah—to the playable lineup.

There are also rumors swirling about a first look at the Nod-Krai region, teasing even more about what’s next for the game.

So yeah, if you’re a Genshin fan, the next few updates are shaping up to be pretty epic. And if you’ve been holding out hope for Dainsleif, now might finally be your time.
