If you’ve chosen the Bene Gesserit path in Dune: Awakening, you’re in for a unique mix of stealth, agility, and mind games.
As you level up, you’ll earn Skill Points — and with the early game moving quickly (you can hit level 5 in about an hour), it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by your options.
To upgrade your skills beyond their initial unlock, you’ll need to track down a Bene Gesserit trainer. But before that, here’s a solid breakdown of which Bene Gesserit skills are worth picking up early.
Bene Gesserit Skill Trees: The Basics
There are three core trees for Bene Gesserit:
- Weirding Way – Mobility and stealth-based abilities
- The Voice – Mind-control powers
- Body Control – Survival and durability
You start with Compel, a Voice-based Ability that lets you force enemies to move toward you. But don’t stop there — here are the best skills to grab next.
Must-Have Bene Gesserit Skills (Early Game)
Bindu Sprint
- Type: Ability
- Tree: Weirding Way
This should be your first or second unlock. It gives you a short burst of incredible speed — perfect for dodging enemies, escaping sandworms, or reaching shade and water fast. In the harsh world of Arrakis, mobility = survival.
Recovery
- Type: Passive
- Tree: Body Control
This passive boosts how much health you can naturally regenerate. Super helpful when you’re constantly taking hits from enemies or just trying to outlast the brutal desert conditions.

Sun Tolerance
- Type: Passive
- Tree: Body Control
One of the most important early-game skills. Sunstroke is no joke on Arrakis, and this passive helps reduce its deadly effects. It makes traveling during daylight much safer.
Vitality
- Type: Passive
- Tree: Body Control
A straight-up boost to your max health. Not flashy, but definitely worth unlocking early, especially if you’re dying a lot or planning to go toe-to-toe in combat.
Solid Picks for Abilities
Weirding Step
- Type: Ability
- Tree: Weirding Way
This lets you teleport behind enemies for stealthy melee kills — great for surprise attacks. You’ll need to unlock Blade Damage first, but it’s worth the investment if you want a stealth-oriented build.
Stop
- Type: Ability
- Tree: The Voice
A strong upgrade over Compel. It freezes your target in place, which can be a total game-changer in combat. You’ll need to unlock Voice Training first, but the reduced cooldown it gives is a nice bonus.
Quick Tips
- You can only equip 3 Abilities and 3 Techniques at a time, so choose wisely.
- Passives are always active — they’re your bread and butter for survival.
- If you’re not near a trainer yet, focus on skills that offer the most utility while exploring and staying alive.
