Mirror Mode has been a fan-favorite challenge in Mario Kart for years, flipping the tracks and forcing players to re-learn routes they thought they’d mastered.
But in Mario Kart World, unlocking Mirror Mode isn’t as straightforward—it takes a bit of dedication and a lot of exploration.
If you’ve been scratching your head trying to figure it out, don’t worry—we’ve laid it all out for you. Here’s how to unlock Mirror Mode and dive into the flipped madness.
Mirror Mode Unlock Requirements
Unlocking Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World involves completing a series of objectives across multiple game modes.
The good news? You don’t need Gold Cups or perfect finishes—you just need to complete the tasks. Here’s the full breakdown:

✅ Step-by-Step Requirements:
- Complete all 7 Grand Prix on 150CC
- You don’t need to win every race or grab the Gold Cup—just finish each Grand Prix at 150CC difficulty.

Once you’ve knocked those four tasks out, there’s one final challenge waiting for you.
🏁 Final Step:
Complete the Special Cup Grand Prix on 150CC
- This cup unlocks after completing all 7 standard Grand Prix tournaments.
- You don’t have to win the whole thing—just finish it.
After finishing the Special Cup, you’ll trigger a secret ending cutscene where Mario and Luigi watch the world flip on itself—literally. From there, you’ll be able to access Mirror Mode in both VS Race and Grand Prix.
Still Not Unlocked? Try This:
If you’ve done everything above and Mirror Mode still hasn’t unlocked, here’s a quick fix that’s worked for some players:
➡️ Head back into Free Roam
➡️ Collect at least 10 “?” Panels
➡️ Make sure your combined total of P-Switches, Peach Medallions, and “?” Panels equals 100
Once you’ve done that, try running the Special Cup again. That should do the trick.
Play Mario Kart World on Nintendo.
