How to Find the Hidden Banana in Nostalgia Country – Donkey Kong Bananza Guide

Here’s how to find all three Banandium Gems in Donkey Kong Bananza’s Nostalgia Country challenge, including the hidden Jungle Hijinxs easter egg and DK’s secret house.

Welcome Back to Jungle Hijinxs (Kinda)

If your muscle memory tingled the second you stepped into Nostalgia Country in Donkey Kong Bananza, you’re not alone. This fourth Hilltop Layer challenge (found in the Undertone Canal of SL200) is a straight-up homage to Donkey Kong Country’s OG level: Jungle Hijinxs.

The vibes are immaculate, the level design is full of cheeky throwbacks — and yes, there’s a hidden banana that most players miss on their first run.

Here’s how to grab all three Banandium Gems, especially that sneaky one chilling in DK’s house.

Nostalgia Country Guide in Donkey Kong Bananza – All Banandium Gems & DK’s Hidden House

Where to Find All Banandium Gems in Nostalgia Country

Gem #1 – Just Play the Game

This one’s handed to you on a silver banana platter. Just finish the level, and boom — Banandium #1 is yours. Literally unmissable.

Gem #2 – Can’t Miss It

Same deal. Another gem is sitting out in the open as you progress through the course. You’d have to actively try to avoid it. (But please don’t.)

Gem #3 – The Hidden Banana in DK’s House

Here’s the one people miss. It’s not at the end. It’s not behind a breakable wall. It’s literally at the very start of the course — you just gotta think vertically.

How to Find the Secret “Treasured Memories” Banana

Step-by-Step:

  1. Start the Level – As soon as the course begins, don’t move forward.
  2. Perform a Jump Shot:
    • Hold ZR to tear up a chunk of terrain.
    • Tap A to jump with it.
    • Hit A again mid-air to perform a Jump Shot.
  3. Aim for the Ledge Above the Doorway – You’re trying to grab the ledge above the course’s starting entrance.
  4. Climb Up – DK will grab the wall. Climb up and you’ll enter a hidden room: Donkey Kong’s house!
  5. Bounce on the Tyre – Inside, there’s a classic bounce pad (shoutout to SNES physics). Use it to punch the floating Banandium Gem out of the air.

Optional: You can break some rocks above the entrance to make it easier to climb, but a well-timed Jump Shot makes that totally unnecessary.

Easter Egg Alert: DK’s House Returns!

This hidden banana isn’t just a reward — it’s a full-blown love letter to Donkey Kong Country.

Back in the OG Jungle Hijinxs, DK drops outta his house at the start of the stage. This time around, you go back in, flip the perspective, and collect some literal Treasured Memories. It’s a perfect little nostalgia bomb for longtime fans.

Pro tip: If you’re new to DK games, this Easter egg is a great reason to go back and play the SNES classic. You’ll appreciate Bananza even more. ️❤️
