Oblivion Remastered: How to Complete The Path of Dawn

After getting Brother Martin to safety and meeting the Blades in Oblivion Remastered, you’ll be pulled deeper into the plot against the Mythic Dawn. Your next task is to infiltrate the cult, and that means completing The Path of Dawn quest.

This walkthrough will guide you through every step—finding all four Mythic Dawn books, solving the secret message, and moving on to the Dagon Shrine.

🏠 Step 1: Meet Baurus at Luther Broad’s Boarding House

Head to Elven Gardens District in the Imperial City
Enter Luther Broad’s Boarding House
Sit next to Baurus at the bar and wait
He’ll get up—follow the man (Astav Wirich) who follows him
Head into the cellar where Astav turns hostile
Kill Astav and loot Mythic Dawn Commentaries 1
Talk to Baurus again—he’ll send you to Tar-Meena at the Arcane University

📚 Step 2: Talk to Tar-Meena for Book 2

Find Tar-Meena at the Arcane University in the southeast Imperial City
Speak with her about the Mythic Dawn
She’ll give you Mythic Dawn Commentaries 2

📖 Step 3: Get Book 3 at First Edition Bookstore

Go to The First Edition in the Market District
Talk to Phintias, who’ll tell you Book 3 is already sold to Gwinas

You have a few options:

Wait for Gwinas to show up and convince him to give you the book (best option)
Use Speechcraft or bribe Phintias (Disposition 80+) to buy the book
Pick the lock to the basement chest while Phintias is distracted
Pickpocket Gwinas (not recommended—can trigger guards)

⚠️ Pro Tip: After getting the book, warn Gwinas about the Mythic Dawn. He’ll give you a note about a secret meeting in the Sunken Sewers.

🧭 Step 4: Attend the Secret Meeting in the Sunken Sewers

Go back to Luther Broad’s and talk to Baurus
He’ll guide you to the Sunken Sewers entrance in the Elven Gardens District
Fight through goblins and mudcrabs until you reach the meeting spot

At the meeting:

You can either let Baurus take the lead or sit in yourself
Either way, Mythic Dawn agents attack, and you’ll fight Raven Camoran
Kill him and loot Mythic Dawn Commentaries 4 and the Sunken Sewers Key
Exit through the locked doors or backtrack out the way you came

🧩 Step 5: Solve the Mythic Dawn Book Puzzle

Once you have all four Mythic Dawn books, open them and note the large first letters of each paragraph.

These letters spell out a secret message:

GREEN EMPEROR WAY WHERE THE TOWER TOUCHES MIDDAY SUN

🕛 Step 6: Reveal the Hidden Symbol

Head to Green Emperor Way (the circular walkway around the Imperial Palace)
Go to the Tomb of Prince Camarril on the west side
Wait until 12 PM (midday) in-game time
A red symbol will appear on the tomb wall
Interact with it to complete The Path of Dawn quest
