How to Use the Camp in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – All Camp Features Explained

Your Camp in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is more than just a resting spot—it’s where upgrades, cutscenes, and story progression happen. Here’s how to unlock and use every camp feature.
Everything You Need to Know About Camp in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
The Continent in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is just as brutal as it is beautiful. From tense battles to sweeping exploration, pacing your party is key—and taking full advantage of your downtime can make a huge difference. That’s where your Camp comes in.
Whether you’re upgrading gear, chatting with party members, or just soaking up the calm between storms, your Camp is the go-to spot for prepping before the next big fight. If you’re not sure how or when to access it, here’s a full breakdown of everything the Camp offers (mild progression spoilers ahead!).
How to Unlock and Go to Camp
You won’t have access to the Camp right away. First, you’ll need to defeat the Eveque boss in Act 1: Gustave. Once that’s done, Gustave and Lune will finally be able to leave Spring Meadows and enter the overworld for the first time.

After that, you’ll see a “Go to Camp” option pop up in the bottom-left corner of your screen. Select it, and your party will automatically travel to your Camp. This area acts as a peaceful hub where you can breathe, regroup, and use a bunch of features that aren’t available at regular Expedition Flags.
All Camp Features & Services
While you can manage some things from the Party menu while exploring—like equipping weapons or browsing journals—the Camp unlocks a much deeper toolkit. Here’s everything you can do:

🔧 Upgrade Gear with the Curator
Once you reach The Manor in the Flying Waters region and beat the Curator in battle, he’ll permanently join your Camp. From then on, he becomes your go-to for weapon upgrades and expedition resource management.
You’ll pick up new weapons and Chroma Catalysts regularly, so you’ll be visiting the Curator often to stay on top of your gear progression.
🎶 Play Music Records
Found some vinyls on your journey? Head over to the gramophone at Camp to play any Music Records you’ve unlocked. If you don’t have any yet, the gramophone won’t do much—but it’s a nice touch of atmosphere once you’ve collected a few.

🔥 Campfire Interactions
The campfire itself is packed with options:
- Check up on the others – Triggers optional cutscenes with your party. This option unlocks the “Curious” achievement and can only be used once per campfire visit.
- Spend time with party members – After Verso joins your squad, this new feature helps deepen your party relationships.
- Write in Gustave’s journal – No rewards tied to this, but it’s a reflective moment for Gustave and adds a bit more character depth.
- Check current objective – The game doesn’t always make objectives obvious, so this is a handy reminder for where to go or what to do next.
🏴 Use the Expedition Flag
Yes, even at Camp, you’ve got an Expedition Flag available. You can use it to:
- Rest and heal
- Spend earned Attribute Points or Skill Points
- Manage other basic upgrades
🛏️ Sleep to Exit Camp
When you’re done using Camp’s features, choose the Sleep option at the campfire. This ends your time at Camp and sends you back to your last spot on the overworld map.
The Camp is more than just a place to heal—it’s your hub for progression, story, and bonding with your team. Don’t skip it when the option pops up; it’s one of the best parts of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
