Among the many factions you can join in Oblivion Remastered, the Order of the Virtuous Blood offers one of the more morally engaging storylines. What starts off as a routine vampire hunt in the Imperial City quickly turns into a mystery full of betrayal, and you’ll have to decide who to trust. Here’s a full breakdown of how to start the quest, how to make the right decision, and how to join this vampire-hunting group.
🧛♂️ How to Start the Quest
To kick things off, head to the Temple District in the Imperial City. After waiting around a few in-game minutes, you’ll be approached by Ralsa Norvalo, who asks for help with a sensitive matter.
You’ll then be directed to Seridur’s House, where Seridur introduces himself and the Order of the Virtuous Blood, a faction that claims to hunt vampires for the good of the city. Your task? Track down and eliminate a suspected vampire named Roland Jenseric.
📝 Investigating Roland Jenseric
Next, make your way to Roland’s home, also in the Imperial City. Inside, look for a note on the dining table, resting on top of a book. This will point you toward Roland Jenseric’s Cabin, located east of the city.
⚖️ Spare or Kill Roland Jenseric?
Here’s where the big choice comes in.
When you speak to Roland at his cabin, he reveals that Seridur is actually the vampire, and he’s being framed. You now have two options:
- Kill Roland: If you believe Seridur, kill Roland and return to him to complete the quest early. You won’t be able to join the Order later.
- Spare Roland: If you believe Roland, he’ll ask you to help uncover Seridur’s true identity. This leads to the full quest and lets you join the faction later.

🗺️ Investigating Seridur at Memorial Cave
To get more dirt on Seridur, Roland sends you to The First Edition bookstore in the Merchant District. The shopkeeper reveals that Seridur frequently visits Memorial Cave, supposedly to mourn lost loved ones.
Head to Memorial Cave, which is crawling with undead and vampires. Deeper inside, you’ll find Seridur and trigger a boss fight. Take him down to put an end to his lies once and for all.
🎁 Quest Completion and Joining the Order
After defeating Seridur, return to Roland with the good news. He’s finally free from hiding and agrees to reform the Order of the Virtuous Blood, with you as a trusted member.
Head back to Seridur’s House and meet Roland in the basement, now converted into the Order’s base of operations. You’ll be officially inducted and rewarded with:
- Ring of Sunfire – A powerful ring that enhances your ability to fight vampires.
- The ability to turn in Vampire Dust for gold as faction bounties.
