Paint Cages are one of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s unique mini-puzzles, rewarding players with high-level Pictos for keen observation and clever aim. First introduced in Flying Waters, these cages reappear throughout the game—including in the Flying Manor, a key story location where players battle four major bosses, including Eveque and Dualliste.

🎨 What Are Paint Cages?
Paint Cages are floating, sealed containers with locks hidden around the nearby environment. To open them, you must:
- Locate all the locks.
- Shoot each one.
- Open the cage and claim your reward.
Sometimes these locks are in plain sight. Other times, they’re tucked under platforms, attached to statues, or floating above you, requiring smart positioning or a grappling point to reveal them.
🏰 Flying Manor Paint Cage #1 – Eveque’s Side
📍 Location:
- From the Flying Manor Plaza expedition flag, look for a floating arch nearby.
- Walk across a painting frame to access a hidden platform.
- Jump down into a corner section.
🔓 Lock Locations:
- Lock 1: On the Eveque statue nearby.
- Lock 2: Under the stairs, beside a Bourgeon Nevron.
🎁 Reward:
- Energising Stun Pictos (Lv 28) – Applies Stun and restores AP, making it a great crowd-control tool with resource efficiency.
🗡️ Flying Manor Paint Cage #2 – Dualliste’s Side
📍 Location:
- Start near the Dualliste boss area.
- Climb a series of hidden ledges on a rock wall to reach a high ledge.
- Find Dualliste, then take the semi-hidden road to the right.
- Grapple across to a new platform.
🔓 Lock Locations:
- Lock 1: Immediately to your right when entering the area.
- Lock 2: On a statue above.
- Lock 3: On a floating painting, right above the Paint Cage.
🎁 Reward:
- Powerful Revive Pictos (Lv 28) – Revives a downed ally with more health, crucial for tough boss encounters.
