Arkane Studios Founder Says He’d “Love To” Work on Dishonored 3—But It’s Still a Long Shot
Arkane Studios founder Raphaël Colantonio says he’d love to work on Dishonored 3, but with no active plans and key creators having moved on, a sequel still seems far off.
It’s been nearly a decade since the last mainline Dishonored game, and while fans are still holding out hope for Dishonored 3, don’t expect it anytime soon. That said, there’s a glimmer of hope—Arkane Studios founder Raphaël Colantonio recently said he’d be open to returning to the series.
Speaking on the Quad Damage podcast, Colantonio said, “I’d love to… I mean, we’re talking about totally hypothetical at this point… I could see myself working on Dishonored 3 right now because it’s been so long that, you know, why not? I would revisit that.”
Colantonio left Arkane back in 2017 and went on to co-found WolfEye Studios, so while the interest is clearly there, it’s all speculative. His studio is currently working on its own new project, and there’s no sign he plans to return to Arkane.

📝 There Were Plans, Kind Of
Interestingly, Colantonio revealed that he and others at Arkane once had rough concepts for a third game. “I had a document about Dishonored 3, Harvey [Smith] has a document about Dishonored 3, I think Dinga [Bakaba] has one too,” he said.
- Harvey Smith was Colantonio’s co-creative director on the original games.
- Dinga Bakaba is the current head of Arkane.
So yes, there were multiple ideas floating around, but as Colantonio put it, “I think we’re talking about science fiction at this point.”
⚔️ What’s Arkane Working On Now?
After releasing Deathloop in 2021 (which was technically set in the Dishonored universe but not a direct sequel), Arkane has shifted its focus. Right now, the studio is working on Marvel’s Blade, which was officially announced in late 2023.
With both Colantonio and Smith no longer at Arkane, it’s unlikely their versions of Dishonored 3 will ever see the light of day. So while there’s always a chance the franchise could return, don’t expect any news on it soon.
