Asmongold Leaves OTK After Almost Four Years

Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has officially left gaming and entertainment group One True King (OTK) after almost four years. OTK started in 2020 with Asmongold and other big streamers coming together, eventually becoming a well-known name in gaming and streaming.

Why Did Asmongold Leave?

Things got complicated in October 2024 when Asmongold made controversial comments about Palestinians while streaming. After facing backlash, his second Twitch account, ZackRawrr, was quickly banned

The next day, he uploaded a YouTube video apologizing and announcing that he was stepping back from his leadership roles at OTK and Starforge Systems (a company that builds gaming PCs). He said he wanted to take responsibility for his mistakes and grow from them.

Recently, during a stream, a fan asked if OTK had kicked him out. Asmongold clarified that he left on his own and had actually been out of OTK for a while. He explained that his streams, which often include strong political opinions, didn’t really match what OTK was trying to do as a group. Since he tends to be outspoken and controversial, it made it harder for OTK to get sponsors or work with brands that prefer to play it safe.

Another Reason for Leaving

Asmongold also said he didn’t want his controversial content to negatively impact OTK or its members. He explained that the decision to part ways was mutual, but even if it wasn’t, he’d still be okay with it.

He’s not the only one who’s left recently—fellow Twitch streamer Tectone also announced in November that he was leaving OTK.

What This Means for OTK

Losing Asmongold is a big hit for OTK since he has over 3.5 million Twitch followers, but in the long run, it might actually help the group. Controversy can hurt a brand, and with him stepping away, OTK may avoid some unwanted drama.

For example, Asmongold recently made headlines after getting into an online argument with billionaire Elon Musk. It all started when Asmongold jokingly challenged Musk, saying he’d stream on Twitter for a year if Musk could prove he’d reached level 97 in Path of Exile 2.

Now, Asmongold is focusing entirely on his own content, and it looks like he’s ready to do things his way.
