Running low on Gold in Baldur’s Gate 3? Here’s a cheeky exploit using a Level 3 Hexblade Warlock that lets you farm unlimited cash—and it’s ridiculously easy.
How to Get Infinite Gold in Baldur’s Gate 3 with Just a Level 3 Warlock
Let’s be real—Gold in Baldur’s Gate 3 is super useful, especially if you’re eyeing those pricey vendor items early on. While you can find some decent loot just exploring, the really juicy stuff usually comes with a high price tag.
The good news? There’s a ridiculously easy exploit that basically prints you infinite money—and all you need is a Level 3 Warlock with the right setup.

The Exploit: Infinite Gold With a Bound Weapon
This little trick hinges on the Hexblade Warlock’s “Bind Hexed Weapon” ability. Normally, once you bind a weapon, it sticks to you like glue and can’t be dropped, unequipped, or sold. But with a clever workaround, you can totally sell it—over and over again.
Here’s How To Do It:
- Equip any weapon on your Hexblade Warlock.
- Cast “Bind Hexed Weapon” to link it to yourself.
- Talk to a vendor and switch to Barter mode (not Trade—important!).
- Drag any random weapon from your inventory into the barter window.
- Now click and drag that random weapon directly onto your equipped bound weapon.
- Click Balance Offer, then Barter.
Boom. The game thinks you’ve sold your bound weapon, even though it never actually leaves your inventory. Now just rinse and repeat.
⚠️ Make sure you’re in Barter mode, not the default Trade mode. You can switch modes using the toggle at the top of the vendor menu.

Why This Works (and Why It’s Broken in the Best Way)
Since the bound weapon can’t actually be removed, the vendor gets tricked into “buying” it—but it never vanishes from your inventory. So you can just keep selling it on a loop until the vendor runs out of Gold.
Need more money? Just take a Long Rest to reset the vendor’s inventory and cash reserves. Then go back and do it again.
Best Weapons to Use for This Gold Farm
Not all weapons are worth selling here. Some tips:
- Avoid Pactbound Weapons – They’re worth 0 Gold. Useless for this trick.
- Shadow Blade – Worth a modest 30 Gold. Not bad for starters.
- Everburn Blade – Now we’re talking. This bad boy fetches a decent price, making the process much faster.
The more valuable your bound weapon, the fewer cycles you’ll need to hit Gold cap.
Bonus Trick: Win Vendor Favor Too
Since your weapon never leaves your inventory, you can also use this exploit to donate it over and over. This boosts the vendor’s attitude toward you—leading to better prices.
Not that you’ll need discounts once you’re swimming in gold coins, but hey, why not be generous while you cheat the economy?
Infinite Gold Made Easy
- Use a Level 3 Hexblade Warlock
- Bind a valuable weapon
- Use Barter mode to sell it repeatedly
- Rest to reset vendor Gold
- Get rich and break the game economy
Enjoy your shopping spree, champ. Just don’t be surprised if Larian patches this little money-printing machine in a future update. Until then, make it rain! ☀️💰
