Complete guide to Battlefield 6 Deadeye challenges. Learn how to unlock the SVDM DMR and PSR Sniper Rifle with tips, best modes, and map recommendations.
If you’re the type of player who loves picking off enemies from across the map, the Deadeye challenges are your ticket to some seriously powerful long-range weapons. We’re talking about the SVDM DMR and the PSR Sniper Rifle—two weapons that can completely shift how you approach Battlefield 6‘s large-scale battles.
The SVDM gives you that sweet spot between assault rifle versatility and sniper rifle precision, while the PSR is built for those jaw-dropping 300+ meter eliminations. But here’s the thing: unlike some challenges that you can cheese in close-quarters modes, Deadeye demands actual long-range skill and the right battlefield setup.
Just like with the Close Quarters challenges, you’re locked out of Deadeye progression until you hit Rank 23 in multiplayer. This is Battlefield 6’s way of making sure you’ve got enough experience before chasing specialized weapons.
Important: Your stats don’t count retroactively. That means all those sick headshots you landed before Rank 23? They don’t count toward these challenges. Your progress only starts tracking once you’ve unlocked access, so don’t stress about your pre-Rank 23 performance.
Track your progress anytime through Main Menu > Challenges > Assignments > Weapon and scroll to the Deadeye section.
These challenges must be completed sequentially—you can’t jump straight to Deadeye 2. Here’s what you’re up against:
Requirements:
Reward: SVDM DMR
My Analysis: This is the easier of the two challenges, but “easier” is relative. A hundred headshots sounds brutal, but DMRs are forgiving compared to bolt-action snipers. You get faster fire rates, better handling, and more room for error. The 5,000 damage requirement will likely complete itself as you work toward those headshots—just make sure you’re maintaining that 75-meter distance.
Pro Tip: Don’t get too comfortable at extreme range. DMRs are most effective at medium-to-long distances (75-150 meters), not across-the-map sniper duels. Find that sweet spot where you can still track moving targets.
Requirements:
Reward: PSR Sniper Rifle + Crack Shot Player Card Title
The Reality Check: This is where things get real. 150 headshots beyond 200 meters isn’t a casual afternoon grind—it’s a significant time investment. At 200+ meters, you’re dealing with bullet drop, travel time, and targets that can disappear behind cover before your shot lands.
The 300 total kills will come naturally, but those long-range headshots? That’s the bottleneck. Expect to spend considerable time in wide-open maps, waiting for the perfect shot.
Breakthrough is hands-down the best mode for DMR work. Here’s why:
Strategy: Play as a defender and find elevated positions overlooking the objectives. Attackers will be forced to push toward you, giving you consistent shooting opportunities at the right distances.
You need space—lots of it. Conquest on sprawling maps gives you the 200+ meter sightlines required for this challenge.
Best Maps for Long-Range Sniping:
Positioning Tips:
If you’re not using the Range Finder attachment, you’re making this harder than it needs to be. This attachment automatically adjusts your scope’s zeroing based on target distance, eliminating guesswork for bullet drop compensation.
How it works: Aim at your target, the range finder calculates distance, and your scope zeros automatically. You still need to lead moving targets, but elevation compensation becomes dramatically easier.

Unlike the Close Quarters challenges where aggression pays off, Deadeye rewards discipline. Don’t force shots. Wait for enemies to stop moving, peek out from cover, or focus on other targets. Rushed shots miss, and misses waste time.
Not all enemies are equal when you’re hunting headshots:
Even though you’re playing at range, your squad matters:
Long-range sniping requires focus and patience. If you’re tired, frustrated, or distracted, your accuracy plummets. Play Deadeye challenges when you’re fresh and can dedicate focused attention to precision shooting.
Let’s be honest about the grind:
Deadeye 1 (DMR): If you’re focused and playing Breakthrough consistently, expect 6-10 hours of gameplay. DMRs are forgiving, and headshots come more naturally.
Deadeye 2 (Sniper): This is the real time sink. Depending on your sniping skill and map selection, you’re looking at 15-25 hours minimum. The 200-meter headshot requirement is no joke, and some matches you might only land 3-5 qualifying kills.
Combined, you’re investing roughly 20-35 hours to complete both challenges. It’s significant, but the PSR is one of the best long-range weapons in the game.
Short answer: Yes, if you enjoy long-range gameplay.
The SVDM DMR is incredibly versatile—effective at medium-to-long range with faster follow-up shots than bolt-action rifles. It’s worth the grind even if you’re not a dedicated sniper.
The PSR Sniper Rifle is top-tier for long-range dominance. If you’ve invested the time to get 150 headshots at 200+ meters, you’ve already proven you have the skill to use it effectively.
Plus, completing these challenges makes you a legitimately better player. You’ll improve at range estimation, leading targets, and positioning—skills that translate across all weapon classes.
Mistake #1: Playing the wrong modes
Don’t try grinding these in Team Deathmatch or King of the Hill. You need space for long-range engagements.
Mistake #2: Neglecting the Range Finder
Without it, you’re guessing bullet drop. Don’t make it harder than necessary.
Mistake #3: Getting tilted after missed shots
Long-range sniping has a high miss rate even for pros. Don’t let frustration lead to forced, low-percentage shots.
Mistake #4: Ignoring body shots
For the “300 kills with Sniper Rifles” requirement, body shots count. Don’t obsess over headshots for every elimination.

Deadeye challenges aren’t for everyone, and that’s okay. They require patience, precision, and a genuine enjoyment of long-range combat. But if you’re willing to put in the time, the SVDM and PSR are fantastic additions to your arsenal.
The good news? Once you’ve completed these challenges, you never have to worry about them again unless they appear as daily or weekly objectives. You’ll have proven your marksmanship, earned elite weapons, and likely become a significantly better player in the process.
Now grab your rifle, find a good vantage point, and start stacking those headshots. Those 200-meter eliminations aren’t going to land themselves.
