The Continent in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is packed with challenging zones and memorable boss fights—but few are as strange (or as stylish) as the Mimes. 

These eccentric enemies are scattered across the world and offer unique rewards when defeated. While some are easy to find during the story, others require a bit of exploring. Here’s where to find them all—and how to beat them.

All Mime Locations & Rewards

There are 12 Mimes total, and each one drops a unique reward. One even shows up in the prologue!

Lumiere (Prologue)

• Near the docks where the Gommage takes place. Look right from the stage performers.
  
• Rewards: “A Peculiar Encounter” trophy/achievement, Lumiere Music Record
  

Spring Meadows

• Left of Grand Meadow Expedition Flag → grapple across the gap to a stone platform.
  
• Rewards: Baguette Outfit & Haircut (Gustave)
  

Flying Waters

• From Lumieran Streets Expedition Flag → narrow passage → kelp forest → climb up.
  
• Rewards: Short Haircut (Maelle)
  

Ancient Sanctuary

• Maze area → open space with collapsed wooden structure → elevated path in the back.
  
• Rewards: Baguette Outfit & Haircut (Lune)
  

Esquie’s Nest

• Near Expedition Flag where Francois waits → backtrack and take rope → pond area.
  
• Rewards: Baguette Outfit & Haircut (Sciel)
  

Continent Overworld (Red Island)

• Northwest of Old Lumiere → swim with Esquie’s ability → two Mimes facing each other.
  
• Rewards: Voluminous Haircuts (Sciel & Lune)
  

Frozen Hearts

• From Iced Heart Expedition Flag → climb train cars → go left near objective.
  
• Rewards: Short Haircut (Lune)
  

Yellow Harvest

• Harvester’s Hollow Expedition Flag → crawlspace to mountain area.
  
• Rewards: Braid Haircut (Maelle)
  

Sunless Cliffs

• Chroma Portal Expedition Flag → portal challenge (one party member only).
  
• Rewards: Bald Haircut (all characters, one per win), “The One” Pictos
  

The Reacher

• Ladder Area Expedition Flag → cross bridge → rope on the left → bottom area.
  
• Rewards: Baguette Outfit & Haircut (Maelle)
  

Sirene

• Main path → moving platform → underground tunnel → grapple route → hidden corner.
  
• Rewards: Sirene Haircut (Lune)
  

The Monolith

• Tainted Cliffs Expedition Flag → follow main path → left at fireplace structure → rope leads down.
  
• Rewards: Voluminous Haircut (Maelle)
  ⚠️ This one is flanked by two strong enemies—be ready!
  

How to Beat the Mimes

Mimes aren’t pushovers, but once you know their patterns, they’re pretty manageable. Here’s how to handle them:

• Shield Phase:
  Every battle starts with the Mime building a shield wall. Use Free Aim, multi-hit Pictos, or Maelle’s “Breaking Rules” to bust through quickly.
  
• Break Their Defense:
  Mimes have high base defense. Use fire-based attacks to stack Burn and fill the Break Meter (yellow bar under their HP). Cracks will appear as it fills.
  
• When the Meter is Full:
  Use a Break skill once the gauge is flashing. This will stun the Mime and lower its defense for the rest of the fight—perfect time to go all-in with your strongest abilities.
  
• Attack Patterns to Watch For:
  Mimes only use two basic moves:
  
  • A three-hit melee: two slaps + headbutt.
    
  • A multi-hit hammer attack: about five hits in a row.
    Both are single-target and easy to time dodges around.
    
• Exception:
  The Monolith Mime fight is different—it comes with two additional enemies. Make sure your party is ready for a tougher battle there.
  

Why Hunt Them All?

Even though there’s no trophy for beating all 12 Mimes, it’s still worth the effort. Each one unlocks unique outfits and haircuts that can’t be earned anywhere else. Plus, they’re just fun fights that add some flavor to your journey across the Continent.
