A Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 player reveals a glitch that allows farming over 2 billion XP and massive Lumina drops using a clone-respawn trick and a bugged weapon effect.

A Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 player has uncovered a powerful XP and Lumina farming glitch that’s left much of the community stunned—and asking the devs not to patch it just yet.

Posted by Reddit user Rapthalia_, the exploit uses a repeatable clone-respawn mechanic in combination with a glitched weapon effect to rack up billions in XP and loot, all within one battle.

The trick involves fighting the Chromatic Danseuse boss in Old Lumiere, intentionally prolonging the fight to farm its endlessly respawning clones—without ever killing the boss itself. Also check Duplication Glitch.

So About The Lumina Farm Glitch…

💥 How the Glitch Works

  • Step 1: Head to the Chromatic Danseuse encounter in Old Lumiere.
  • Step 2: Lure the boss into respawning its two clones as often as possible.
  • Step 3: Equip Verso’s Contorso weapon, which reportedly doubles enemy drops due to a glitch.
  • Step 4: Defeat the clones repeatedly while avoiding the boss kill.

According to Rapthalia_, they farmed over 2 billion XP during a single session. They intended to go longer but quit due to frame rate drops and concerns about crashing their PlayStation 5.

💬 Community Reactions

The subreddit lit up with praise and curiosity:

  • One player joked that they’d “never leveling the normal way again.”
  • Another pleaded with Sandfall Interactive to not patch the glitch until they could try it themselves.
  • Several users admitted they didn’t discover the trick until New Game+, making them eager to return with a more optimized setup.

While farming Colour of Lumina has been known for a while, this XP method took many by surprise.

🖌️ Why It Matters: Lumina & Character Builds

In Expedition 33, Luminas act as passive boosts tied to Pictos, shaping each character’s strengths. You can equip multiple Luminas without limit, but they’re gated behind Lumina Points, which scale with level or can be boosted using items like Colour of Lumina Tint.

Given how essential XP is to unlocking higher build potential, this glitch offers a massive edge in endgame and NG+ strategies.

🧪 Will It Be Patched?

While there’s no official comment yet from Sandfall Interactive, the developer is known for encouraging creativity—thanks to their open, idea-driven development culture.

Still, given how game-breaking this exploit can be (especially if you’re crashing consoles), there’s a good chance a patch or fix could eventually roll out.

For now, if you’re looking to test this out, you may want to act fast—before the Chromatic Danseuse stops giving out free wins.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to surprise and engage players with its Final Fantasy–meets–Persona aesthetic and layered combat.

But thanks to passionate players like Rapthalia_, it’s also showing signs of the creative chaos that often leads to unforgettable gaming moments—intentional or not.

Have you tried the clone glitch yet? Just be careful—your PS5 fan might not survive it.
