TL;DR
- The Dark Red Goblet gives a permanent +40 Max Stamina upgrade when consumed
- It drops from completing the Corrupted Greymane faction quest under House Thorel in Demeniss
- You must be at Chapter 8 or later in the main story to unlock this quest
- Find the Greymane Informant at Halssius Trading Post to start the quest
- Defeat the Crimson Warden boss at Demeniss Wildlife Park to claim the goblet
- You must manually use the goblet from your inventory — simply having it does nothing
Stamina affects nearly everything in Crimson Desert. It runs down as you dodge, sprint, climb, and chain attacks. Run dry in the middle of a boss fight and you will pay for it fast.
The Dark Red Goblet is one of the best permanent upgrades in the game. It adds +40 Max Stamina instantly when used, and that boost never expires. It is tied to a single faction quest in Demeniss, and most players miss it entirely.
This guide shows you exactly how to unlock the quest, beat the boss, and use the goblet correctly.
What Is the Dark Red Goblet?
The Dark Red Goblet is a key item described in-game as a blood-stained goblet once used by the Traitor — the Crimson Warden. When consumed, it permanently increases your Max Stamina by 40 points.
This is not a timed buff. It does not wear off. It applies to all playable characters on your account the moment you use it. More stamina means more dodges in a row, longer sprints across the map, faster climbing, and more attacks in combat before you hit the wall. If you want to get max stamina in Crimson Desert, this goblet is one of the key steps.
Requirements
Before you can access the quest that rewards the goblet, you need to meet one condition:
Reach Chapter 8 in the main story.
The Corrupted Greymane faction quest is locked until you hit this chapter. If you are still in the early game, just keep pushing the main story and the quest will unlock automatically as you progress.
Step 1 — Find the Corrupted Greymane Faction Quest

Once you are in Chapter 8, open your Journal and navigate to Faction Quests. Under the Demeniss tab, look for House Thorel. The quest you want is called The Crimson Warden or Corrupted Greymane.
If the quest does not immediately show in the list, travel to the area between Hernand and the Demeniss Wildlife Park. The quest marker icon for the goblet is actually visible on the map before you even accept the quest, which makes it easier to spot.
Activate tracking on the quest so the markers appear on your map.
Step 2 — Speak to the Greymane Informant at Halssius Trading Post

Follow the first quest marker to Halssius Trading Post. Find the Greymane Informant near the Notice Board there and speak with them.
They will tell you the story. The greatest archer of the Greymanes has defected. She now goes by the Crimson Warden and has been hunting down civilians on the orders of nobles. Your job is to find her and put her down.
After the conversation, a new marker will point you toward the encounter zone.
Step 3 — Head to Demeniss Wildlife Park
Follow the second quest marker to Demeniss Wildlife Park, located directly south of Demeniss City. When you arrive, you will find a camp filled with people in distinctive bunny-eared hats. The Crimson Warden is waiting deeper inside.
Walk into the center of the arena area to trigger the boss fight.

Step 4 — Defeat the Crimson Warden
The Crimson Warden is a highly mobile archer. She constantly repositions and uses her bow to keep you at range. She only has one health bar but she is fast and punishes anyone who plays too aggressively.
Here is how to handle the fight:
Equip a shield before you enter. Her bow attacks can be blocked with a shield, which makes closing the distance much safer. Keep the shield up while approaching and use it to absorb arrow shots. Check our how to flip enemies with a shield guide if you want to turn her aggression against her.
Use Force Palm to stun her. Force Palm is the most important ability here. When it lands, it stuns the Warden and opens a window for a three-hit combo that builds her stagger meter. Once the stagger meter fills, land a Finisher for massive damage. If you want to get the most from Force Palm, upgrade it before this fight.
Use Focus Shot when she creates distance. If she backs off and you cannot close the gap, switch to your bow and use Focus Shot to chip her stagger meter from range. Then close in for melee combos once she is staggered.
Climb a pillar during her Arrow Shower. When the Warden starts her volley barrage, she rains arrows across a wide area on the ground. Instead of trying to dodge roll through all of it, climb a nearby pillar in the arena. You can safely wait out the attack from above and hit her with a ranged counterattack as she finishes.
Watch and Learn — three exclusive skills. This fight has a unique mechanic. You can learn three skills during the battle that are not available anywhere else in the game. These are Evasive Shot, Multishot, and Explosive Evasive Shot. To learn each one, face the camera toward the Warden when she performs the move and hold down the Interact button. You need to bait the attack twice for each skill. It is worth doing this before you finish the fight.
Grappling moves like Leg Sweep, Pump Kick, and Scissor Takedown also work well here. They contribute to the stagger meter and keep her from repositioning freely.
Step 5 — Claim the Rewards
When the Crimson Warden is defeated, you receive three rewards:
- Crimson Chaser Mail — a solid armor piece
- Arrow Rain — an Abyss Gear
- Dark Red Goblet — the permanent stamina upgrade
Do not leave before walking to the Crimson Warden’s body. Interact with the corpse to pick up an Abyss Artifact as a bonus drop. This is separate from the main quest rewards and easy to miss if you walk away too quickly. For more on how to level up using Abyss Artifacts, see our guide on how to get unlimited Abyss Artifacts.
Step 6 — Use the Dark Red Goblet
This is where many players get stuck. Having the goblet in your bag does nothing. You need to actively consume it.
Here is how:
- Open your Inventory
- Go to Key Items / Treasures — look for the purple icon in the top row
- Select Dark Red Goblet from the left column
- Press the Use button to consume it
- Your Max Stamina increases by +40 instantly
The effect is permanent and applies immediately. Check your character stats screen before and after if you want to confirm it worked.
Why the Dark Red Goblet Is Worth Prioritizing
Most upgrades in Crimson Desert are gear-dependent. Swap your armor and the bonus goes away. The Dark Red Goblet is different. The +40 Stamina is baked into your character permanently from the moment you use it. No gear required. No upkeep needed.
In mid-game boss fights, the extra stamina gives you more rolls before your meter bottoms out. During exploration across large regions like Delesyia or the Demeniss area, you can sprint and climb longer without stopping. For aggressive players running a crit-heavy setup with something like the Red Needle Sword, having more stamina means keeping your combo chains going without interruption.
It also pairs well with the Tarivian Necklace if you are building around survivability. More Max Stamina means more room to work with before things go sideways.
If you are in Chapter 8 and have not done this quest yet, go do it now. It takes maybe 15 minutes and the payoff lasts the entire game.
