Elden Ring: Nightreign features six legendary Dark Souls bosses. Find out which ones made the cut, how they’ve changed, and where to find them across various Expeditions.

Dark Souls Bosses in Elden Ring

Elden Ring: Nightreign brings in a powerful dose of nostalgia with several legendary boss fights straight from the Dark Souls trilogy. While there aren’t as many Dark Souls bosses as some fans hoped for, the six included are some of the most memorable and iconic in the franchise.

Here’s a quick look at who made it in, what’s changed, and exactly where to find them during your expeditions.

🐛 Centipede Demon

Centipede Demon in Elden Ring Nightreign

Origin: Dark Souls 1

This nightmare fuel is infamous for its arena full of lava and its detachable limbs. In Nightreign, the lava’s gone, but the chaos is still very real. You can still break off its limbs and tail—but here’s the twist: those severed parts become separate enemies that keep fighting. Yeah… good luck with that.

Where to Find It:

  • Shows up in Sentient Pest or Darkdrift Knight Expeditions
  • May appear as a Night 1 or Night 2 boss

🐉 Gaping Dragon

Gaping Dragon Elden Ring Nightreign

Origin: Dark Souls 1

One of the most grotesque designs in the Souls universe, this stomach-teethed monstrosity has been remastered in gruesome detail. It’s just as horrifying and just as deadly, especially for newer players who’ve never fought anything like it.

Where to Find It:

  • Found in the Gaping Jaw Expedition
  • Typically appears as the Night 2 boss

🔥 Smelter Demon

Origin: Dark Souls 2

A fan-favorite (or should we say fan-nightmare), the Smelter Demon brings the heat—literally. In Nightreign, it keeps its original look but fights faster and harder. It can also switch between its regular form and its Aged (blue) form, triggering more powerful attacks during its charged AoE blast.

Where to Find It:

  • Encountered in the Fissure in the Fog Expedition
  • May appear as a Night 1 or Night 2 boss

🕷️ The Duke’s Dear Freja

The Duke's Dear Freja in Elden Ring Nightreign

Origin: Dark Souls 2

Freja is back, and she’s still a terrifying giant spider with lasers. Her webs, spindly legs, and death ray are all here, making her a tricky boss if you’re not careful. Unlike DS2, there’s no surprise NG+ encounter, but she’s still tough enough the first time around.

Where to Find It:

  • Can appear in the Sentient Pest Expedition
  • Shows up during Night 1 or Night 2

💃 Dancer of the Boreal Valley

Dancer of the Boreal Valley in Elden Ring Nightreign

Origin: Dark Souls 3

Beautiful and deadly, the Dancer moves like a ghost and hits like a truck. Her dual blades and multi-spin attacks can quickly shred players who aren’t paying attention. If she starts spinning, get ready to Surge Sprint away—unless you want to get sent back to the Hold.

Where to Find It:

  • Appears in Fissure in the Fog Expedition
  • May be the main boss of Night 1 or Night 2

⚡ Nameless King

Origin: Dark Souls 3

The legend himself. The Nameless King is a two-phase titan, just like in DS3. Phase one has him soaring on his storm-dragon, tossing lightning bolts like a god. Beat the dragon, and it’s round two—where he slams down with a lightning spear and starts hitting you with lightning-fast combos.

Where to Find It:

  • Appears in the Darkdrift Knight Expedition
  • Usually shows up as the Night 2 boss

These returning Dark Souls bosses in Elden Ring: Nightreign aren’t just nostalgic callbacks—they’ve been carefully reimagined to fit Nightreign’s fast-paced chaos. Whether you’re a Souls veteran or a new Tarnished, taking them down is a badge of honor worth earning.
