Diablo 4 Roadmap for 2025 Doesn’t Include an Expansion, But It’s Still Seriously Packed

The Diablo 4 roadmap for 2025 is loaded with new seasons, powers, events, and updates—just don’t expect an expansion until 2026.

If you were hoping for a brand-new Diablo 4 expansion in 2025, you might’ve been a little bummed by Blizzard’s latest update.

But hang tight—because while there’s no expansion dropping this year, the Diablo 4 roadmap for 2025 (and a bit of 2026) is loaded with content.

We’re talking seasonal themes, feature overhauls, returning fan-favorites, and even some crossovers that might raise a few eyebrows—in a good way.

The year’s already off to a solid start with Season 7, which leans into a dark witchcraft vibe. But now Blizzard has spilled the beans on what’s next, and there’s a lot to unpack.

Starting with Season 8, titled Belial’s Return, the new season introduces Boss Powers, keeping with the trend set by Witch Powers and Vampiric Powers in past seasons.

There’s also a new activity called Apparition Incursion, a celebration for the game’s two-year anniversary, and—drumroll—a crossover with a major IP.

Blizzard hasn’t said what the crossover is yet

Now, Blizzard hasn’t said what the crossover is yet, but if you’re a betting person, Doom: The Dark Ages seems like a good guess. We’ll see if that one pans out.

Beyond seasonal events, Season 8 is also bringing new Lair Bosses and a complete shake-up to the battle pass system.

The old structure is being reworked into something called Reliquaries, which is supposed to give players more say in the rewards they chase each season. Sounds promising.

Next up is Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, which dives into the lore of the ancient wizarding group we all know and love.

Expect to unlock Horadric Powers, giving all classes some extra magical flair. Plus, we’re getting new Nightmare Dungeon content and—finally—keyboard and mouse support on consoles

That’s a big win for players who want more of that PC feel on their couch setup.

Season 10 brings us Infernal Chaos

To wrap up the year, Season 10 brings us Infernal Chaos. This season adds Chaos Powers to the mix, and Infernal Hordes, the game’s roguelike mode, is getting a big update.

Oh—and another crossover with a different IP is planned, just like in Season 8.

Looking even further ahead into 2026, Blizzard confirmed that’s when we’ll finally see the next Diablo 4 expansion.

Alongside that, a new ranking system is in development, and yes—it’s official—leaderboards are coming too.

Sadly, leaderboards won’t hit in 2025, but at least we know they’re in the pipeline.

So yeah, no expansion this year. But between all the seasonal content, system upgrades, and new features, there’s still a lot to get hyped for if you’re a Diablo 4 fan.

Until Season 8 kicks off, maybe dive into some of the best Diablo-like games out there—or get hyped for what 2025’s PC game lineup has in store.
