Big news for Fortnite fans—Epic Games is introducing Wallet Cards, and they’re about to make buying content in the game way more accessible.
These cards will let players grab exclusive bundles, packs, and in-game items without needing a credit card.
Fortnite might be free-to-play, but Epic has turned it into a billion-dollar machine thanks to its steady stream of skins, emotes, and battle passes.
Usually, players grab V-Bucks to buy cosmetic content, either by earning a small amount through the Battle Pass or by purchasing them online or at a store.
But there’s always been one big catch: certain items, like Starter Packs or real-money bundles, could only be bought directly with a credit card.
That’s where Wallet Cards come in.
What Are Fortnite Wallet Cards?
Wallet Cards will work differently from V-Bucks cards. Instead of adding V-Bucks directly to your Fortnite account, these cards will add real money to your Epic Games account balance. That balance can then be used to buy anything on the Epic Games Store, including Fortnite’s real-money-only items.
A few things to note:
- Wallet Cards will look very similar to V-Bucks cards, so be careful when picking one up.
- The balance from a Wallet Card is added to your Epic account, not just your Fortnite wallet.
- You can use the funds for Fortnite, Fall Guys, Rocket League, or anything else on the Epic Games Store.
Price Range and Limitations
According to HYPEX, the cards will range in value from $15 to $150. This is great for most purchases, but not ideal if you’re trying to snag a cheaper pack, like the $5 Starter Pack. Still, any leftover funds stay in your account and can be used later, so nothing goes to waste.
It looks like Wallet Cards will start showing up in stores later this year. While no official launch date has been confirmed yet, Epic has said they’re coming soon—so keep your eyes open when you’re out shopping.
This is a pretty sweet move from Epic, especially for younger players or anyone who doesn’t have access to a credit card. And hey, we might even see themed Wallet Cards for other games like Fall Guys or Rocket League down the line.
For now, Fortnite players finally have a new way to unlock premium content—no card required.
