Get ready, samurai fans—July 2025 is going to be huge for Ghost of Yotei.
After a brief teaser during the June 4 State of Play, developer Sucker Punch Productions has confirmed that a dedicated Ghost of Yotei gameplay showcase is on the way next month.
This presentation will dive deep into combat, exploration, and gameplay mechanics, giving fans their first true look at what to expect from one of the most anticipated PS5 exclusives of the year.
🐺 What We Know So Far
Ghost of Yotei was first revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play on September 24, 2024, and has quickly become the spiritual successor to the beloved Ghost of Tsushima.
Set 300 years after Tsushima, this story follows Atsu, a fierce warrior driven by revenge after her family is killed. Her journey takes her deep into the remote and atmospheric Enzo region of Japan, with a loyal wolf companion by her side.
And yes, the wolf already stole the spotlight in the teaser.

📅 Save the Date: October 2, 2025
Sucker Punch has already confirmed that Ghost of Yotei launches exclusively on PS5 this October 2. That’s less than a year from reveal to release—pretty wild in today’s gaming world.
And if you’re wondering if this is just a re-skinned Tsushima, don’t worry. According to the devs, this will be their largest open world yet, with a non-linear structure that gives players the freedom to approach the game however they like.
🔥 Hype Level: Rising
Former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida has already called Ghost of Yotei “even better” than Ghost of Tsushima—a bold claim, considering how beloved that game still is.
And fans are clearly on board. When pre-orders opened in early May, Ghost of Yotei quickly shot to the top of the PlayStation Store charts in the U.S., U.K., and more.
You’ve got three editions to choose from:
- Standard Edition
- Digital Deluxe Edition
- Collector’s Edition (PlayStation Direct exclusive)
🧭 Coming in July: A Real Look at the World of Yotei
The upcoming July showcase will finally give fans a full breakdown of gameplay systems, world design, and how Atsu and her wolf will work together in the wild.
With Sucker Punch promising more freedom, immersive storytelling, and their most ambitious game world yet, this deep dive could be the moment Ghost of Yotei truly steps out of Tsushima’s shadow and into its own legacy.
Get ready to mark your calendar—July is just the beginning. 🎮🐺
