Sciel Glass Cannon Build Guide – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Sciel might seem complex at first glance, but once you wrap your head around her Sun & Moon mechanics and lean into her Foretell-based burst damage, she becomes an unstoppable force in your party. This build turns Sciel into a true glass cannon, built to delete enemies before they ever get a turn.
Weapon: Chation
- Found early in Stone Wave Cliffs
- Applies 10 Foretell to all enemies when using Sun Skills
- Drawback: Sciel takes double damage from all sources
This is the core of the build. Chation supercharges Sciel’s damage through rapid Foretell stacking but punishes mistakes hard—so the best defense is a dead enemy. Also check All Weapon Locations.
Core Skills
Skill | Purpose |
Card Weaver | Applies 10 Foretell and gives another turn — key to combo starting |
Phantom Blade | Moon skill that hits hard and benefits from Twilight Mode |
Dark Wave | A powerful AoE for clearing enemies after Card Weaver |
Secondary Skills
Skill | Use |
Rush | Increases team speed, keeping Sciel ahead of enemy turns |
Fortune’s Fury | Apply double damage to allies—useful if Sciel is on cleanup |
Best Pictos
- Energising Turn – Restores AP when a turn starts
- Inverted Affinity – Great with Chation for burst damage (but she takes more)
- Energising Start IV – Starts battles with bonus AP
Optional: Confident instead of Inverted Affinity if you want to halve incoming damage—but it disables healing. You can also check about Weird Pictos.

Suggested Luminas
Lumina | Effect |
Breaker / Breaking Counter | Good for bosses or enemies with breakable stances |
Dodger / Solidifying / Cleansing Tint | Improves survivability despite the glass cannon tradeoff |
Energising Jump / Dead Energy II / Base Shield | Helps with early AP economy and extra safety |
Last Stand (Hidden Arena) | Makes her viable as a solo carry if you want the solo route |
⚠️ If your fights are lasting more than three turns, swap Inverted Affinity for something defensive like Shield Affinity.
Best Teammates
Sciel technically doesn’t need anyone—but she thrives with characters who support her fast-kill strategy.
- Maelle – Applies Defenceless with Offensive Switch to boost Sciel’s damage even higher
- Other units with AP buffing or debuffing Pictos can also contribute to enabling Sciel’s speed kills
Combat Strategy
- Start with Card Weaver

- Fortune’s Fury on Sciel (or another hard hitter) if you need even more burst
Summary
This build lets you delete enemies before they ever get a turn. With early Foretell stacking, Twilight synergy, and high AP availability, Sciel becomes one of the most lethal Expeditioners in the game—just keep her safe.
