Do you play Globle every day? if yes, you already know the routine: guess a random country, watch the map light up, and slowly creep closer like a gamer trying to sneak past an NPC with 200 IQ vision.
For August 20, 2025, the puzzle gave us a tricky but fun one—definitely not your everyday guess unless you’re a geography nerd or happen to binge Google Earth in your free time.
Just not Globle we have answers for Bandle, Worldle, and Yesterday’s Globle too.
Globle Hints
Hint 1: Located in East Africa, right along the Red Sea.
Hint 2: Shares borders with Ethiopia, Sudan, and Djibouti.
Hint 3: Known for its capital city, Asmara, which has some wild Italian-style architecture.
Hint 4: It’s a smaller country compared to its neighbors but strategically important thanks to its coastline.
If those didn’t help, no worries—you’re not alone. This one definitely isn’t as “obvious” as guessing France or Brazil.
Globle Answer August 20, 2025
Eritrea 🇪🇷
Yep, today’s Globle mystery country is Eritrea.
It’s one of those countries that sometimes slips under the radar, but once you guess Ethiopia or Sudan and see the map glowing hot red, it’s just a matter of sliding over one border.
The tricky part? Many players don’t immediately think of Eritrea unless they’ve studied African geography—or gotten burned by it in a past Globle round.

What makes Eritrea a classic “Globle curveball” is that it’s:
- Not super big. Your brain usually jumps to bigger African countries first.
- Less often in the news compared to its neighbors, so it doesn’t sit at the top of people’s mental list.
- A coastal nation you might forget exists if you zoom past Africa too quickly.
Basically, it’s the geography equivalent of that one map location in a video game you know exists but can never remember until someone pings it for you.
So if Eritrea had you scratching your head today, don’t stress—it’s a common blind spot. At least you learned something new for your next round, and hey, now you can flex your knowledge when the puzzle throws another East African country at you.
Tomorrow’s Globle? Who knows. Maybe it’ll be a mega-country like Canada… or maybe it’ll hit us with another curveball like Eswatini.
