Supergiant Games has dropped the last early access patch for Hades 2 ahead of its 1.0 release. Here’s what’s in the update and what it means for the game’s future.
Hades 2 Gets One Last Early Access Update Before 1.0
Supergiant Games has just rolled out Patch #11, the final update in Hades 2‘s early access chapter. It’s not the big 1.0 release just yet—but it’s the last pit stop before we hit the finish line.
Available now on Steam Early Access, this patch brings a swath of balance tweaks, polish passes, and minor fixes. It also preps the underworld for the long-awaited “True Ending” content that’s coming in the full release… whenever that may be.
What’s in Patch #11?
Supergiant dropped the patch with a familiar tone: “Further improvements, balance adjustments, and fixes based on your feedback and what we’ve observed.” Translation? They’ve been watching how we all dodge-roll like maniacs and optimized accordingly.
Here’s a quick look at what’s new:
- Weapon & Boon Balancing: More tweaks across the board—nothing game-breaking, but enough to make some builds feel smoother.
- Enemy Encounter Rates: Adjusted for better pacing (looking at you, Cerberus-lovers).
- Visual & Audio Refinements: Subtle but impactful—more responsive VFX, music cues, and UI polish.
- Bug Fixes: Because even gods have glitches.
- Resource Conversion Notice:
Any Zodiac Sand or Void Lens you’re holding when v1.0 drops will auto-convert to Prestige.
Basically: use them now, or they’ll become shiny endgame currency later.
Still No v1.0 Release Date—But We’re Getting Close
The million-drachma question: When does Hades 2 officially launch?
Supergiant isn’t saying—yet. But we’re close. Back in June, the studio said they were:
“Heading into the final phase of Hades 2 development, which involves adding the story’s true ending and other finishing touches.”
In other words, the game is feature complete, and the team is now focused on endgame content and polish. The v1.0 release will also mark the game’s debut on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, as a timed console exclusive (just like the original Hades did).
What to Expect From Full Release
Once Hades 2 leaves early access, here’s what you can expect:
- The True Ending: Supergiant has confirmed this will be a key part of v1.0. Get ready for heavy lore drops.
- Platform Expansion: Console players finally join the underworld party, starting with Switch & Switch 2.
- Potential New Content: While not confirmed, v1.0 could bring new boons, encounters, and final balance passes.
- Cross-save Support: No word yet, but fans are hopeful based on Hades 1’s platform support history.
Prepare Your Save, and Your Soul
Patch #11 marks the last early access update before Hades 2 hits 1.0. There’s still no release date, but the devs are clearly lining everything up for a final sprint to launch. If you’ve been waiting for the complete story, your time is almost here. For early access grinders? One last chance to squeeze value from your Void Lens.
