Hogwarts Legacy 2 Cameo Wish List

After the wild success of the first Hogwarts Legacy game, a sequel always felt like it was just a matter of time. Now that it’s officially happening, fans are hyped and already throwing out guesses about what cool stuff—and even cooler characters—we might see in the next chapter of this magical journey. There’s barely any info out yet, which honestly just makes it more fun to speculate. The Wizarding World is massive, and there’s still a ton of stories, creatures, and iconic names that didn’t show up the first time around.

That said, these games take place way before Harry and his gang hit the scene—like a whole century before. So yeah, we won’t be seeing the Golden Trio or anything. But there are still a bunch of familiar names and family ties that could totally pop up in Hogwarts Legacy 2.

🔮 Coolest Cameos We Wanna See in Hogwarts Legacy 2

More of Sirius Black’s Family

If you played the first game, you’ll definitely remember Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black—yeah, that strict, kinda snobby guy who banned Quidditch. He might not have been super likable, but if that last name rang a bell, it’s for good reason. Phineas is actually one of Sirius Black’s ancestors.

We know from Order of the Phoenix that Sirius’ family tree is massive—there was even a giant tapestry of it in his old house. So, it’s super likely there were other Blacks around during the time of Hogwarts Legacy. Most of them weren’t exactly known for being friendly (Sirius made that clear), but it’d be interesting to see if the game introduces a few who are a little more chill than Headmaster Buzzkill.

Merope Gaunt

Okay, this one’s a bit of a stretch depending on how far the timeline jumps between games—but Merope Gaunt (aka Voldemort’s mom) could totally show up in a future installment. She was born in 1907, which is a bit after the first game, but if Hogwarts Legacy 2 moves forward in time, she could easily pop in.

We already met Ominous Gaunt in the first game, and while it’s not super clear how he’s related to Merope, they’re definitely part of the same extremely twisted family tree. Pureblood families like the Gaunts were obsessed with keeping their bloodline “pure,” which basically just means their family tree’s more like a family wreath. That messed-up obsession is also part of why Merope had so many health issues growing up, not to mention the straight-up abuse from her dad, Marvolo.

We’re not even sure if Merope actually went to Hogwarts, but if she did, she’d be a super interesting NPC—especially since her creepy love for Tom Riddle Sr. is what led to the rise of Voldemort in the first place.

Dobby

Yeah, this might be a long shot—but hear me out. We don’t actually know how long house elves live. What we do know is that they usually stay with one family for generations. Since Dobby died in 1998, it’s honestly possible he was already around during the events of Hogwarts Legacy 2.

Imagine seeing a tiny, young Dobby just starting out. That would be such a cool moment for fans—maybe even a little emotional. It’d be awesome to see how he ended up with the Malfoy family, or maybe we find out the older Malfoys were actually kind to him at first. That twist would totally mess with expectations and show a whole new side of things before Lucius came in and ruined everything.

Albus Dumbledore

This one’s an absolute must. Like, seriously—how can they not put a young Dumbledore in the sequel?

The first game takes place in 1890. Dumbledore starts Hogwarts in 1892. So if the next game follows the same character, we’d be in our seventh year right as Dumbledore walks in as a first-year. Perfect timing.

And honestly, the storytelling potential here is insane. Dumbledore is such a huge part of the whole Wizarding World. In the original books, he’s this wise old legend. But it wasn’t until Deathly Hallows and the Fantastic Beasts films that we really started to see the real Dumbledore—his complicated family life, the whole tragic Grindelwald thing, and some of the sketchy choices he made when it came to Harry.

What makes Dumbledore such a strong character is how he represents that whole idea of seeing our heroes (or even our parents) as perfect, and then slowly realizing they’re just people with flaws and regrets. Meeting first-year Albus at the start of his Hogwarts journey could be such a cool way to peel back even more layers of the character before he becomes the legend.

So yeah—if Avalanche is planning to give us a big cameo moment, young Dumbledore better be it.

Even though Hogwarts Legacy 2 is still under wraps, the possibilities for cameos are kind of endless. Whether it’s more shady Black family members, a troubled young Merope Gaunt, an adorable version of Dobby, or a baby-faced Dumbledore, fans have every reason to be excited.

Let’s just hope Avalanche knows what they’ve got on their hands—because a few well-placed cameos could totally take this sequel from “awesome” to “legendary.”
