Dune: Awakening is a massive survival MMO packed with story quests, crafting systems, and player freedom—and with that comes a deep leveling system. With five Skill trees and loads of ways to play, your level progression helps define your build and playstyle.
If you’re worried about leveling too fast and running out of new abilities—don’t be. The max level cap is generous, and there’s plenty of room to experiment.
🚀 How to Gain XP in Dune: Awakening
The great thing about Dune: Awakening is that almost everything you do gives XP. Whether you’re exploring, crafting, or fighting, you’re always progressing. No grinding necessary—unless you want to.
Here are the main ways to earn XP:
- ✅ Complete main quests and side missions
- ✅ Pick up contracts from settlements like Griffin’s Reach
- ✅ Mine and gather resources in the wild
- ✅ Defeat enemies and hostile wildlife
- ✅ Discover Points of Interest and explore new regions
Tip: If you’re just starting out, stick to the main questline—it’ll introduce you to key systems and rack up XP along the way.

🎯 Leveling Rewards: What You Get
As you level up, you’ll unlock two important currencies:
🟦 Skill Points
Used to unlock active abilities and passive perks across five distinct Skill schools—such as the Bene Gesserit, Fremen survival, or combat-focused builds. These skills affect everything from traversal to combat to crafting.
🟧 Intel Points
Used to research gear, equipment upgrades, and other vital crafting projects. You’ll be guided early on to learn how Intel works, so don’t stress—it all becomes second nature pretty quickly.

🧠 What’s the Max Level Cap?
The maximum level in Dune: Awakening is Level 200, giving you plenty of room to grow and unlock new builds.
But here’s the catch:
At a certain point, you’ll stop earning Skill Points from leveling up. That means while you can hit max level, you won’t be able to unlock every skill in every tree at once.
🔄 Can You Respec?
Yes! You can respec your Skill Points every 48 hours via the Skills menu. So if you regret a choice or just want to try a different build (maybe jump from stealth to heavy weaponry or test out Planetologist tools), you’re not locked in forever.
Leveling in Dune: Awakening
- Level up by doing basically anything: quests, contracts, gathering, fighting, exploring
- Earn Skill Points (for abilities) and Intel Points (for research)
- Max level is 200, but you’ll eventually stop gaining Skill Points
- You can respec every 48 hours—so try new builds freely
