Looking to wrap up the Pumpkin Peril side quest in Tainted Grail? Here’s how to find Eogan, get the Pumpkin Seeds, and deal with the creepy aftermath of your harvest.
Pumpkin Peril Quest Guide – Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Pumpkin Peril is one of those weirdly charming (and slightly creepy) side quests in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
It starts off simple—just help out a gardener named Eogan—but quickly spirals into a bizarre little detour involving haunted farms, undead farmers, and a vegetable that turns into something… very not right.
If you’re wondering how to track down the elusive Pumpkin Seeds and complete this quest, here’s a full breakdown.
Step 1: Find Eogan the Gardener
Your first step is to locate Eogan, the Fortress gardener. He’s not in plain sight—you’ll need to explore a bit.
- Head behind the Shooting Range in the Fortress.
- Climb up the ladders and catwalks around the western wall.
- Look for a blue canopy and a chicken coop—that’s where Eogan is hanging out.
Once you find him and strike up a conversation, he’ll give you a small task first: solving the Roots of Knowledge side quest.

Step 2: Complete Roots of Knowledge
Eogan’s rooftop garden isn’t doing so hot, and he wants your help figuring out why. Follow the quest marker to meet Rauric, who gives you some background on the strange Keeper-related energy affecting the plants.
Eogan will give you some experimental seeds and ask you to plant them in the planters near him. After that:
- Wait 36 in-game hours.
- Harvest Eogan’s Mysterious Root.
- Hand it back to him.
With that done, Eogan’s ready for the real challenge: the Pumpkin Peril quest.
Step 3: Track Down the Pumpkin Seeds
Now things get weirder.
- Travel to Rescree, located northeast of the Horns of the South fortress.
- Go to the area near where the Spread Your Wings quest happens.
- You’ll find a small farmhouse—it’s empty during the day, but return at night when the Wyrdness is active.
At night, a couple of skeleton farmers show up, still tending crops like it’s totally normal. Talk to the skeleton on the right to get your Pumpkin Seeds.
Step 4: Return to Eogan and Finish the Quest
Bring the Pumpkin Seeds back to Eogan during the day. He’ll plant them himself, and then all you have to do is wait a few in-game days.
But this is Tainted Grail, so of course it can’t end happily.
Once the pumpkins grow, something goes horribly wrong. One of the planters births a monstrous abomination, and you’ll be forced to fight it off. There’s no way around it—no matter what dialogue choices you pick, this event is locked in.
Pumpkin Peril is a wild ride from cozy rooftop farming to full-blown pumpkin horror. It’s just one of the many odd and fascinating ways the Wyrdness twists the world in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. While the outcome isn’t avoidable, it’s definitely memorable—and a fun (if slightly cursed) detour from your main quest.
