Dune: Awakening Sandbike Guide – Crafting, Refueling, Repairing, and More

The Sandbike is the first vehicle you’ll craft in Dune: Awakening, and trust us — you’ll want it ASAP. It’s fast, lightweight, and absolutely vital for crossing open sand without becoming worm chow. The best part? The vehicle crafting system makes building and customizing your ride genuinely fun.

Here’s everything you need to know about getting your first Sandbike up and running — and keeping it that way.

🏗️ How to Craft a Sandbike

If you’re playing with the tech tree locked, you’ll need to progress through the Journey quests until you unlock the Sandbike Mk1 Assembly Schematic in your Research tab.

Materials & Crafting

Once unlocked, you can start crafting the individual Sandbike parts at a Fabricator. To get the necessary materials:

• Raid Imperial Testing Stations and old research labs for tech loot
  
• Buy parts from merchants at trading posts
  
• Craft each component individually (chassis, engine, PSU, treads, etc.)
  

Assembling Your Sandbike

After gathering all the parts:

1. Craft a Welding Torch (also made at a Fabricator)
   
2. Equip the torch
   
3. Place the chassis down first
   
4. Attach each part: PSU → Engine → Treads
   
5. Add optional components like a backseat or booster

🚀 Using Boosters and Attachments

If you attach devices like a booster, a corresponding skill icon will appear at the bottom of your screen when riding.

• To activate it, just press the button the skill is bound to.

🛠️ How to Repair Your Sandbike

The desert’s tough on vehicles, and your Sandbike will take damage. Here’s how to fix it:

What You’ll Need:

• A Welding Torch
  
• Some Welding Wire (craftable from the Crafting menu)
  

Repair Steps:

1. Equip the Welding Torch
   
2. Switch to Repair mode (Alt-fire)
   
3. Aim at the damaged part of your Sandbike
   
4. Press Fire to begin welding
   

Repairs will gradually consume Welding Wire and reduce the max durability of the part being fixed. So don’t rely on repairs forever — sometimes, replacements are necessary.

🛡️ Storing Your Sandbike

Leaving your bike outside your claimed territory too long? It’ll start to degrade. To prevent that:

• Use a Vehicle Backup Tool.

2. Aim it at your vehicle
   
3. Press Fire to store it

⛽ How to Refuel Your Sandbike

Running out of gas mid-desert is a death sentence on Arrakis. Here’s how to keep your bike fueled:

Refueling Steps:

1. While near or riding your Sandbike, hold Interact
   
2. The Interaction Wheel will pop up
   
3. Select the gas can icon to refuel using fuel from your inventory
   

Crafting Fuel:

• Use a Chemical Station to convert Fuel Cells into Sandbike fuel
  
• Or find fuel by looting wrecks, containers, and merchants
