If you’re digging into Chapter 8 of DOOM: The Dark Ages, you’ve probably stumbled across three spooky wolf statues hovering near a glowing pink forcefield. If you already found these back in Chapter 6, you likely know what’s up. But if you sped through it, you might be a little confused. No worries—it’s actually pretty straightforward.
To drop the pink forcefield and snag the treasure waiting behind it, you’ll need to hunt down three Ancestral Forge wolf statues and smash them with your shield. Below, you’ll find all the statue locations mapped out, plus details on the sweet reward waiting at the end.
You Can Destroy the Statues in Any Order
You don’t have to hit them in any specific sequence, but we’re listing them in the order we came across them—feel free to mix it up.
First Wolf Statue Location
Head over to the area with the three spectral wolf statues. You’ll notice one of them is a bit farther from the forcefield than the others. Look directly above that statue, and boom—there’s your first Ancestral Forge wolf statue, just chilling overhead. Aim your shield and take it down.
Second Wolf Statue Location
Make your way back toward the central crater. Keep moving around it until you reach a path opposite the one that leads to the spectral statues. Follow it to the end, and you’ll spot the second wolf statue sitting near a ledge. It’s not hiding—but it is protected by a red forcefield. You’ll need to wipe out all the nearby enemies to disable it before you can destroy the statue.
Third Wolf Statue Location (Secret Key Needed)
This one’s a bit more involved. You’ll need the Chapter 9 secret key. To get it, look for a breakable wall near the Ancestral Heart charge point (it’s just above the spectral statues). Hit it with a shield charge, grab the key, then double back past the Sentinel Shrine. Just before the spot where you entered this area, look for a key door on your left. Inside? The third statue—and a Nightmare Imp Stalker to keep things spicy.
What You Get for Destroying All Three
Once all three statues are toast, return to the forcefield area. The barrier will now be down, letting you reach the knight statue inside. Interact with it to score a Wraithstone. If you didn’t know, Wraithstones are crucial for fully upgrading your weapons and unlocking those powerful mastery challenges—definitely worth the effort.
