In every chapter of DOOM The Dark Ages, you’ll come across doors marked with purple barriers and a Secret Key symbol — and yep, you’ll need those keys to get through. Chapter 6 is no different, but since it’s one of the first open-world-style levels, it can be a bit tricky to figure out where the Secret Key is hiding. If you stray too far from the main path, you might end up missing it completely. The good news? The fastest route is to just head straight forward from the start. This quick guide will show you exactly where to find the Chapter 6 Secret Key and what’s waiting for you behind each of the three secret doors.
Where to Find the Chapter 6 Secret Key in DOOM The Dark Ages
Right at the beginning of Chapter 6, you’ll drop into a chaotic battlefield swarming with demons. From the moment you land, don’t overthink it — just walk forward. Head across the embankment and make your way into the forested area straight ahead.
If you stay on this straight path, the Secret Key will show up on your Automap. It’s sitting on a wooden platform above a group of demons, blocked by a red barrier. Clear out all the demons in the area to lift the barrier, and boom — you’ve got the Chapter 6 Secret Key.
All Secret Doors in Chapter 6: The Siege Part I
There are three secret doors in this level that require the Secret Key to unlock. Here’s where to find them and what’s behind each one:
- Cliffside Door (Near the Secret Key Itself)
- After picking up the key, turn around and walk forward. You’ll see a secret door tucked into the side of the cliff.
- Reward: Slayer collectible Toy

- Head to the far left side from the level’s starting point. Climb up a scalable wall into a hidden area with a lever puzzle and a big pool of water. Hug the left wall to spot the door.

- On the opposite end of the map, find a sealed cave marked by a red seal. Defeat the demons nearby, then drop down inside. The secret door is on the right wall of the hidden chamber.
