How to Get Past the Teeth Door
You can’t time your way through this one with slick movement or slowed-down gameplay. Even with Difficulty Modifiers or the weapon wheel slowdown trick, you’ll either fail or take massive damage.
Instead, here’s what you do:
- Face the hallway with the chomping teeth.
- Look up and to the right.
- You’ll spot a blue gear lodged high on the wall.
- Throw the Shield Saw at the gear.
That’s it. The gear disables the teeth, locking them in place and letting you stroll right through without getting munched.

Now, don’t expect a major game-changing reward—this is more of a completionist bonus. On the other side, you’ll find:
- 14 pieces of Gold
- A Life Sigil
- One of the six secret areas in Chapter 18
After grabbing everything, climb the ledge and Shield Charge a green target to loop back into the main part of the map.
Can You Beat It Without the Blue Gear?
Technically? No. Even with slowdown effects, the teeth door is designed to block and punish anyone trying to cheese their way through. In fact, trying to pass during a slowed state (like when using the weapon wheel) actually causes extra damage, hinting that the devs knew players would try this and made sure it wouldn’t work.
