Repairing Gear & Vehicles in Dune: Awakening – What You Need to Know

If you’ve played any survival-crafting game, you already know the pain of your favorite gear breaking mid-adventure. Dune: Awakening is no different — most equipment will eventually wear out. The good news? Repairing your stuff is easy… once you unlock the tools for it.

How to Repair Equipment

You won’t be able to repair gear right away. First, you need to finish the extended tutorial in the Hagga Basin South region. Once that’s done and you reach Vermillius Gap, you’ll unlock the Repair Station schematic and can start building one at your base.

️ Steps to Get Started:

1. Reach Vermillius Gap.
   
2. Establish a base there to unlock the Repair Station blueprint.
   
3. Gather Iron (found in Vermillius Gap and beyond).
   
4. Refine Iron Ore using water — make sure you’ve got a reliable water source.
   
5. Craft and place the Repair Station using your Construction Tool.
   

Tip: Add a second power generator to your base to support the extra load. Repair Stations use power — if you run out, your crafting stations shut down and your base starts to decay.

Repairing Items

Once your Repair Station is set up:

• Interact with it to see a list of damaged gear.
  
• Select what you want to fix.
  
• Confirm the repair.
  

Each repair lowers the item’s max durability, so eventually, you’ll still need to craft or find a replacement.

Bonus: You can repair loot you find in the world — but only if you already know the item’s recipe.

️ How to Repair Vehicles

Driving across the dunes is rough on your ride. If your Sandbike (or any vehicle) gets banged up, you’ll need:

• A Welding Torch
  
• Some Welding Wire
  

Unlike gear, vehicles aren’t repaired at stations. You’ll do it yourself — mechanic-style.

DIY Vehicle Repairs:

1. Equip your Welding Torch
   
2. Switch to Repair Mode (press your alt-fire button)
   
3. Point it at the damaged part
   
4. Press Fire to start welding
   

The torch will consume Welding Wire during repairs. Just like with regular gear, each repair reduces the max durability of the part you’re fixing.

Quick Tips

• Don’t wait too long to repair gear — if an item hits zero durability, it’s done for.
  
• Keep spare Iron and Welding Wire handy at your base or on your Sandbike.
  
• Repairing is cheaper than replacing — but only for a while. When max durability gets too low, consider crafting a new item instead.
