Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo Joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Day One on May 16

Papercraft adventure Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo launches May 16 as a day one title on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, joining a packed May 2025 lineup.
Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is officially coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on May 16—the same day it launches. As a day one title, it’s one more reason Xbox players are sticking with Game Pass Ultimate, especially during a stacked May 2025 lineup.
This quirky adventure game features a papercraft aesthetic and follows the story of a dead snake named Kulebra, who finds himself wandering through Limbo. Players interact with the “souls of Limbo” to gather clues, solve puzzles, and confront eerie dark spirits along the way. The game draws heavily from Latin American cultural themes surrounding the afterlife, with vibes that land somewhere between Paper Mario, Grim Fandango, and Coco.
Though it’s launching day one on Game Pass Ultimate, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is also coming to the Nintendo Switch for those looking to play it on the go.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – May 2025 Highlights
Kulebra is just one of several big additions to Game Pass this month. Here are a few other day one titles to keep on your radar:
- Revenge of the Savage Planet – May 8
- Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15
- To a T – May 28
- Spray Paint Simulator – Date TBD
On top of the new releases, the month kicked off strong with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Anno 1800 being added to the service. Dredge joins the library on May 6, offering more variety for fans of indie hits.
And remember—Xbox Game Pass Ultimate isn’t just about day one games. It also includes online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, cloud gaming, and rotating perks that make the subscription more than worth it for most Xbox fans.
Excited to try Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, or looking forward to another May release?
