Marvel Rivals Has One “Stupidly OP” Team-Up That Almost No One Uses

Players have started to notice that Marvel Rivals has a ridiculously strong Team-Up that barely ever shows up in matches.

One of the core mechanics of the game is Team-Up abilities, where heroes can combine their powers for devastating effects. While popular combos like Hulk boosting Doctor Strange and Iron Man’s damage or Luna Snow enhancing Namor and Jeff are widely used, one particular Team-Up is being completely overlooked, despite being insanely powerful.

When Storm and Human Torch team up, Storm can absorb one of Torch’s fire tornadoes, transforming her regular hurricane into a fiery vortex that destroys everything in its path. Not only does this make her ultimate more deadly, but it also lasts longer than usual, making it even more dangerous for enemies trying to survive.

Despite how strong this combo is, players almost never see it in matches. One Reddit user pointed this out, saying, “Is it just me? Even in quickplay without the bans, I’ve only seen this happen like once or twice lately. It’s kinda odd because of how stupidly OP it is… As a support main, I ain’t complaining, but I was expecting to see this frequently after release, lmao.” Another player joked, “When it happens, it’s a war crime. So probably a good thing.”

Some believe it’s not just rare—it’s outright broken. One player mentioned, “It’s a fun team-up, and if executed right, it’s pretty much a guaranteed team wipe. You can even catch some supports panic-ulting and dying through it.” Others noted that even Invisible Woman’s ult isn’t safe, as the firestorm can burn right through it.

Even though the Storm-Torch Team-Up is incredibly strong, there are some reasons why it’s not used often. It requires strong coordination between players, since they need to set it up properly. It also burns two ultimates at once, which some players feel isn’t worth it. On top of that, hitscan heroes can easily counter both Storm and Human Torch, making them vulnerable to enemy teams who adjust their strategy.

While the Storm & Human Torch Team-Up might not be common, it’s still one of the most devastating combos in the game. When it does happen, it’s an absolute game-changer—or, as one player put it, “a war crime.”
