Minecraft Live 2025 Announced: Date, Time, and What to Expect

Minecraft Live 2025 is officially set! Mojang just announced that the event will kick off on March 22 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time, streamed live online for fans everywhere. Can you believe it’s already the fifth Minecraft Live since the event started back in 2020?

Before Minecraft Live was a thing, Mojang used to host Minecon—an annual gathering where fans got together to celebrate their favorite block-building game. But since the event got rebranded to Minecraft Live, it’s become bigger and better. Now it’s not just a social meetup; it’s a full-on online experience where players get updates on the game’s future, participate in mob votes, and get exciting news about spin-off games like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends.

Mojang even dropped a teaser video recently, confirming the March 22 date and time. The video showed off some mobs grooving to EDM music (yeah, really!), teased some climate-related updates for passive mobs, and gave a sneak peek at the flowering Cactuses—currently in Snapshot and Preview builds but not yet officially in-game. Looks like we can expect new game content and even some special movie-related goodies during the event!

Speaking of movies, the Minecraft Movie is set to premiere on April 4, making Minecraft Live 2025 the perfect event to celebrate the game and hype up the upcoming film. Mojang hinted at limited-time game drops too, so if you’re looking for cool new stuff, you might want to keep your eyes glued to the in-game shop during the event.

One thing to note—though the trailer had Skeletons and Bogged mobs dancing Thriller-style and an Enderman flossing, Mojang hasn’t confirmed if these dance moves will actually hit the game (we can dream, right?). But since the current Snapshot and Preview already show off upcoming changes like revamped Desert biomes and updated Chickens, Cows, and Pigs, chances are good we’ll see some cool new content during or shortly after the event.
