Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Beat Guardian Doshaguma
When you first step into Wyveria in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’re gonna run into a Guardian Doshaguma—and trust me, this thing is no joke. Unlike the regular Doshaguma you fought earlier in the game, this Construct-type monster is way stronger and plays a big role in the final region’s storyline.
If you wanna take it down without getting wrecked, here’s everything you need to know—from prepping for the fight, finding it, and taking it down, to all the loot you can get.

How to Prepare for the Guardian Doshaguma Fight
1. Gear Up for Defense
Guardian Doshaguma’s attacks might not have crazy elements, but they do deal solid physical damage while lowering your defense. So, forget about elemental resistance—you need physical defense-focused armor. Some of the best sets for this fight are:
- Rey Dau
- Nu Udra
- Guardian Ebony
Also, don’t just equip these—upgrade your armor as much as possible to boost your defense even more.
2. Bring an Ice Weapon
This monster has a few elemental weaknesses, but Ice is by far the best one. Weapons crafted from Hirabami drops are your best bet here, so if you’ve got one, now’s the time to use it.
3. Stock Up on Slinger Ammo
Pick up some Slinger ammo before heading out—it’ll help big time during the fight.

Where to Find Guardian Doshagumas
Since these monsters are Construct-type, they only spawn in Wyveria (the final region of the game). Luckily, they’re not super rare, and you can find them in most areas.
If you’re not seeing one:
- Rest at your tent to reset the spawns.
- Take an optional quest that specifically targets Guardian Doshagumas for a guaranteed fight.

How to Beat Guardian Doshaguma
1. Stay Close, But Be Careful
Guardian Doshagumas are big, slow, and hit hard. They mostly rely on close-range attacks, which means the safest place to fight them is… right at their feet. Yeah, sounds risky, but hear me out—since their attacks have long wind-ups, you’ll usually have plenty of time to dodge.
2. Target the Front Legs
The best way to weaken this beast is by focusing your attacks on its front legs. Breaking them exposes its weak spot, letting you deal even more damage.
3. Watch Out for the Spit Attack
If you see it winding up a spit attack, get out of the way! While the damage isn’t crazy, it lowers your defense, making you take way more damage over time.
4. Avoid Shockwaves
A lot of Guardian Doshaguma’s attacks come with follow-up shockwaves, so don’t just dodge the initial hit—move further away to avoid getting clipped.
5. Roar Protection is Your Friend
Like most monsters, this one has a roar attack, but you can completely ignore it if you bring the right items (like Earplugs).
6. Use Fire Slinger Ammo for Extra Damage
Those crystals that appear after its shockwaves? If you shoot them with Fire Slinger ammo, they explode, dealing extra damage. Take advantage of this to speed up the fight.
