One Piece is making its big return to Crunchyroll next month, and it’s kicking things off with a double episode premiere weekend on the streaming platform.
One Piece Returning To Crunchyroll Next Month
The announcement came during Anime Japan in Tokyo, where Toei Animation and Crunchyroll confirmed that new episodes will start airing over the weekend of April 5 and 6. These new eps will pick up after the Straw Hat Pirates’ encounter with the genius navy scientist Dr. Vegapunk inside his mysterious lab.
Things will kick off with an 83-minute special recapping Egghead Arc Part 1, and then two brand-new episodes will drop right after—one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Fans in North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Latin America will be able to catch the simulcast.

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga, One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew as they adventure through the Grand Line, chasing the legendary treasure that’ll make Luffy the King of the Pirates.
The anime’s return comes after a short break, but if you’re waiting on the live-action series, don’t expect that to come back anytime soon. It’s not hitting Netflix until 2026, since there’s a long post-production process going on right now. Season 2 only just wrapped filming last month.
In related news, co-showrunner Matt Owens, who previously talked about his six-year vision for the series, announced he’s stepping down after running the first two seasons. While there are rumors flying around about why, Owens mentioned it’s due to his mental health—and honestly, good on him for being upfront about it.
