Redeploy Balloons Were Great—But They Don’t Belong in Verdansk
Warzone’s OG map, Verdansk, is expected to make its grand return in Season 3 on March 20 (if the Battle Pass timer is anything to go by). And let’s be real—the hype is real after the first leaks dropped.
Classic weapons like the HDR, Grau 5.56, Kilo 141, and CR-56 AMAX were top-tier back in the day, and rumor has it they’re all coming back too. This marks the first time all four have been in the same game since Modern Warfare 2019.
And here’s the best part: the Verdansk remake will reportedly look a lot like the 2020 launch version, with only a few tweaks. That’s a win.
But while Raven Software deserves props for bringing back what made Verdansk so special, I’m more concerned about newer mechanics that could mess things up.

Verdansk Doesn’t Need Redeploy Balloons
Redeploy Balloons, introduced in Warzone in 2022, let players launch into the air, making it easier to escape the gas, reposition, or pull off surprise attacks.
By 2023, they were rebranded as Redeploy Drones in Ashika Island and Al Mazrah, with an added twist—you could carry them in your inventory and use them whenever.
Recently, ModernWarzone asked the community if they wanted Redeploy Balloons or Drones in Verdansk. The responses? Mixed.
But honestly, there shouldn’t even be a debate—Verdansk doesn’t need them.
Why Redeploy Balloons Would Ruin Verdansk
Here’s the thing—Resurgence is different from Verdansk. It’s a fast-paced, nonstop action mode with small maps and quick respawns, so adding Balloons there makes sense.
But Verdansk isn’t Resurgence. It’s already the smallest traditional battle royale map in Warzone history, which means you don’t need Balloons to find action.
Plus, adding them would make vehicles pointless. Why bother grabbing a helicopter, cargo truck, SUV, or ATV when you can just fly away silently and faster? Vehicles were a huge part of the original Verdansk experience, helping squads rotate and escape danger. We need them to stay relevant.
And let’s be real—nobody wants to be third-partied by a squad dropping out of nowhere before they even know what’s happening.
Keep Verdansk Classic
Redeploy Balloons were great for newer Warzone maps, where faster movement was necessary. But Verdansk was already perfect without them. There’s no need to mess with what made players fall in love with Warzone in the first place.
So, let’s keep Verdansk exactly as we remember it—pure, nostalgic, and full of chaos.
