Solo developer Tyler teases employee locker filters in Schedule 1’s upcoming update, bringing better inventory control and management features. Beta expected to launch May 23–24.
Indie management sim Schedule 1 is gearing up for another major content update, and this time, solo developer Tyler is bringing one of the community’s most requested features: item filters for employee lockers. Set to roll out via beta in the next day or two—around May 23 or 24—the update will continue building on the solid foundation laid by v0.3.5 in early May.
🔒 Locker Filters: Better Control, Less Clutter
In a recent tease on social media, Tyler shared a sneak peek of the new locker filter system, which gives players more control over what employees store. Each locker slot can now use whitelists and blacklists to include or exclude specific items—or even filter by item quality.
This change replaces the current employee beds, a system often criticized by players for taking up too much space while offering limited functionality. The switch to lockers adds both space-saving and inventory benefits, making it a win-win for base management enthusiasts.
🧹 More QoL Management Tools Incoming
The locker filters are just the beginning. According to Schedule 1’s development roadmap, Tyler is also working on broader management and categorization tools, such as:
- Management Item Filters: Let players apply whitelist/blacklist rules to handler routes, stations, and racks.
- Custom Product Packs: Build personalized product sets tailored to different customers or strategies.
- Property Renovation: Upgrade and personalize purchased properties for expanded gameplay depth.
These additions are part of a larger focus on giving players fine-grained control over their workforce and inventory systems.
🧪 How to Join the Beta
Players interested in trying out the new features early can opt into the beta by changing the game’s branch on Steam. This hands-on phase will help Tyler gather feedback and fine-tune the mechanics before the wider rollout.
📅 What’s Next for Schedule 1?
Despite steady progress, not all fans are satisfied. Some community members have criticized the slow update pace and accused Tyler of being “greedy” for not hiring help. Tyler has not publicly responded to these critiques, but the roadmap remains on track, with the full release still projected about a year away.
For now, though, fans of Schedule 1 can look forward to meaningful quality-of-life improvements, smarter storage systems, and continued evolution of one of indie gaming’s most promising management titles.
Stay tuned—Tyler’s not done yet.
