The Sims 4’s July 29 patch fixes Enchanted by Nature bugs, including overactive Ailments and Fairy Wing visuals, while improving console Gallery access and DLC compatibility.
Sul Sul, Sim Nation — This Patch Is a Big One
The Sims 4 just rolled out a July 29, 2025 patch, and if you’ve been dealing with contagious fairies, invisible aliens, or a console that won’t let you access the Gallery — breathe easy. This update’s for you.
Following the release of Enchanted by Nature, EA has pushed out a round of much-needed fixes and gameplay tuning, especially for Ailments, Balance, and Fairy Wings. Add in some console workarounds and a few long-overdue Create-a-Sim updates, and you’ve got a patch that actually makes the game feel smoother — not just prettier.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s fixed, what’s tweaked, and what’s finally behaving.
Enchanted by Nature Fixes: Ailments Are Now Way Less Annoying
Remember when your Sim got mysteriously sick every day like clockwork? That’s been nerfed hard.
✅ Ailments Frequency Reduced by Up to 75%
- Sims now get Ailments every 3 days instead of daily
- Contagions are less likely to spread, especially in large households or public lots
- Public toilets are no longer plague factories
✅ Balance System Revamp
- Dramatic events like witnessing death or going Mortified/Hysterical no longer instantly tank your Sim’s Balance
- Balance still drops fast, but now you’ve got time to recover before things spiral
- Basically, it’s more “mood swing” and less “full breakdown”
Fairy Wings Update: What’s Working and What’s Intentional
Fairy Wings got a lot of attention — not all of it good. Some players thought their wings were glitching. Turns out:
- Wings tuck away intentionally during certain animations (like sitting, sleeping, or riding horses)
- There are 360+ animations that have been adjusted to avoid clipping
- If wings still vanish after certain actions when they should be visible, EA wants reports on the forums

Console Players: You Can Get Online Again (Sort Of)
Some console players were locked out of Gallery access and event rewards due to a missing User Agreement pop-up. It’s not fully fixed, but there’s a workaround:
🔧 Workaround to Fix “Online Connection is Required” Error
- Go to Game Options > Other
- Select “Link EA Account”
- Accept the updated User Agreement
- Restart the game — and boom, you’re in
Werewolf and CAS Fixes
- Werewolf noses now show proper color options again in Create-a-Sim. Snouts are back, baby.
- Sims in DLC outfits or Alien skins won’t look like shadow monsters if you’re missing the pack. Finally.
Small Fixes That Matter
- Naturopaths now get holidays off (if you have the Seasons pack)
- “Sponge Bath in Bathroom” and “Bathe in Water” interactions now remove singed status from Sims
- Sims now stay at work or school during events if others in the household travel
July 29 Patch Highlights
- Ailments reduced by 75%, less contagious, more balanced
- Balance system no longer punishes you instantly after trauma
- Fairy Wings hide intentionally during some activities to avoid bugs
- Console workaround allows Gallery access again
- Werewolf noses fixed, CAS bugs patched
- DLC outfit compatibility improved for base game users
- New fixes for Sims behavior during events and holidays
A Patch Worth Celebrating (and Playing)
This update proves EA’s listening — and actually tuning systems players flagged within weeks of Enchanted by Nature’s launch. Whether you’re raising fairy twins, roleplaying a chill naturopath, or just trying to access the Gallery from your console, this patch makes the game more playable, more stable, and way less frustrating.
