In Sword of the Sea, restoring the ocean and chasing collectibles isnโt the only thing to look forward to. Along the way, youโll also come across ridable animals โ gorgeous sea creatures you can hop on for some majestic rides.
Riding them isnโt just for vibes (though the vibes are immaculate). Most of these animals also unlock trophies/achievements, making them essential if youโre chasing 100% completion.
Hereโs the full list of every ridable animal in Sword of the Sea and exactly where to find them.

1. Orca โ Veiled Sea
- Progress until you reach the golden door with chains on either side.
- Head to the left chain and follow the path of lanterns.
- This will trigger jellyfish to appear โ activate the water point nearby.
- Restoring the water causes Orcas to swim into the area. Simply hop onto one to unlock the โOrca Riderโ trophy/achievement.
2. Archelon (Giant Sea Turtle) โ Lost Grotto
- After flipping the four switches, youโll head into another section where water needs to be restored at the top of a ruined building.
- Once you restore it, Archelons (massive ancient turtles) will emerge.
- Ride one to secure the second trophy. Perfect chill moment.
3. Humpback Whale โ Shadow Tundra
- Push through the tundra until you encounter a large statue.
- Restore the nearby water by activating the water point.
- This will summon the mighty Humpback Whales. Ride one to unlock the third achievement.

4. Elasmosaur โ Shadow Tundra
This oneโs slightly trickier.
- After leaving the pillar room, youโll reach an area where you can boost using pillar Wisps.
- Head to the right side, and youโll spot an entrance into a small enclosed chamber.
- Inside, restore the water to summon an Elasmosaur.
- Mounting it nets you the achievement.
๐ก Tip: You may need to head up a mountain first, boost down, and then use a jellyfish jump pad to reach the chamber.
5. Sperm Whale โ Sacred River
- In the Sacred River, activate the water point to raise the yellow kelp.
- Along with the kelp, Sperm Whales will emerge.
- Ride one for the โSperm Whale Riderโ achievement.
6. Whale Shark โ Sacred River
- Near the third-to-last level, youโll spot two smaller ships chained to a large one.
- Interact with the buttons to lift the large ship and restore the water beneath it.
- Once restored, Whale Sharks appear!
- Hop onto one and bail off to get the trophy.
7. Blue Whale โ Sacred River (Final Rideable Animal)
- As part of the main story near the finale, climb up to the floating island using your Water Glide ability.
- On top, restore the water surrounding the island.
- This unlocks the colossal Blue Whales. Riding one gives you the final achievement.
