Marvel’s Thunderbolts Funko Pops are out now, but Taskmaster and Ghost are missing—adding fuel to theories about early character exits in the new MCU film.
Thunderbolts hits theaters today, and while some of you might’ve already caught it, most of us are still dodging spoilers. That said, a few details—especially from trailers and merch—seem to have given away a key plot twist. And if you’re a Funko Pop collector, you might’ve noticed something (or someone) missing from the latest lineup.
To celebrate Thunderbolts’ release, Funko dropped five new Pops based on characters from the film. You can grab Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, John Walker, and Sentry right now from Funko and Amazon. They’re all standard-sized figures priced around $12, and yes, they’re all free-standing—except for Sentry, whose floating pose comes with a clear stand.
But fans quickly noticed two major team members aren’t included: Taskmaster and Ghost. And that’s where things start to get interesting.
Taskmaster’s absence probably won’t come as a shock if you’ve been watching the trailers closely. The character is barely featured, and fans have been speculating for a while now that Taskmaster bites the dust early in the movie. So, no Pop figure might just be Funko’s way of avoiding spoilers (or confirming them, depending on how you look at it).
Ghost’s absence, on the other hand, is more puzzling. She’s present in the trailers, and her design has gotten a big visual upgrade since Ant-Man and The Wasp. So why no new Pop? Maybe Funko figured the older version was good enough—but honestly, that’s kind of a missed opportunity. Her revamped suit would’ve made for a killer collectible.
Still, if you’re looking to snag some Thunderbolts merch, the five Pops that are available look great and are ready to order now. Just don’t be surprised if we see a second wave (or some “spoiler” editions) show up down the line.
