All Valorant Ranks in Order
Valorant has a structured ranking system, starting from Iron 1 and going all the way up to Radiant. Here is the full list of ranks from lowest to highest:

What Is Valorant Act Rank?
Your Act rank is different from your regular rank. It is based on your highest-ranked win during a competitive Act.
- As you play ranked games, a hollow triangular badge fills up with small colored triangles, each representing a rank you have won a match in.
- Even if you win games at multiple ranks, only your highest-ranked win will determine your Act rank and rewards.
- Example: If you mostly played in Gold, but you won one game in Diamond 1, you will receive Diamond rewards at the end of the Act.
At the start of each new Act, your rank resets, but your previous Matchmaking Rating (MMR) is taken into account when playing placement matches.
Valorant Rank Distribution (December 2024 vs. November 2024)
Valorant’s rank distribution shows how players are spread across different ranks.
Here’s the latest breakdown of player distribution:
- Iron – 7.2% (previously 6.8%)
- Bronze – 16.9% (same as before)
- Silver – 21.5% (previously 21.6%)
- Gold – 21.9% (previously 22%)
- Platinum – 16.4% (previously 16.1%)
- Diamond – 10.4% (previously 10.3%)
- Ascendant – 4.7% (previously 5%)
- Immortal – 0.9% (previously 0.88%)
- Radiant – 0.027% (previously 0.02%)
This means most players are in Silver and Gold, while only 0.9% of players reach Immortal and less than 0.03% reach Radiant.

How to Get Ranked in Valorant
1. Unlocking Competitive Mode
To play ranked matches, your account must be at level 20.
2. Placement Matches
- At the start of each Episode, you need to play five placement matches to get a rank.
- For Act 2 and Act 3 within an Episode, you only need to play one placement match to get ranked again.
3. Rank Resets
- Your rank resets at the start of each Act, but your previous MMR still affects placement matches.
Playing Ranked with Friends: Rules & Restrictions
Valorant allows players of different ranks to team up, but there are some restrictions to keep matches fair.
Team Rules:
✅ Groups of 2 or 3 players must follow rank limits (see below).
❌ Groups of 4 are NOT allowed (to prevent one solo player from being at a disadvantage).
✅ Groups of 5 players have no rank limits, but the Rank Rating (RR) changes based on the skill gap.
Rank Differences Allowed in 2- or 3-Player Teams
- If the lowest rank is Iron or Bronze, the highest can only be Silver.
- If the lowest is Silver, the highest can only be Gold.
- If the lowest is Gold, the highest can only be Platinum.
- If the lowest is Platinum, Ascendant, Immortal, or Radiant, the highest can only be one tier higher (e.g., Platinum 2 can team up with Diamond 2).
For five-stack teams, there are no rank restrictions, but if the rank gap is too big, your RR gains and losses will be adjusted.
