Found the Questing Beast Egg in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon? Here’s where to find it, how to hatch it, and what it actually does in your journey across Avalon.
What to Do With the Questing Beast Egg in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
During your adventures in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you’ve probably picked up some weird quest items with mysterious purposes.
One of the most curious among them is the Questing Beast Egg, tucked away in a hidden corner of the Horns of the South zone.
If you’re wondering what it’s for and whether you should keep it or toss it in your stash, here’s everything you need to know. Also check: Should You Tell Caradoc About King Arthur.
Where to Find the Questing Beast Egg

You’ll find the Questing Beast Egg inside the Shrine of a Forgotten God, located up in the mountains east of King’s Road. To get there:
- Head around Blood Lake and follow the path near the Druidic Altar.
- Keep walking until you spot an Archer Lady Statue.
- At the top, you’ll run into Caradoc again. He’ll quiz you on why you didn’t tell him Arthur’s spirit is still alive inside you.
Once you get through that conversation, head into the nearby cave. Inside, you’ll find the aftermath of a fight — a dead beast taken down by Caradoc himself.
Behind it, there’s a small gap hiding a Nest, and in that nest? Yep, the Questing Beast Egg.
Grab it, loot the nearby chest, and maybe backtrack a little before messing with the egg too much.
Should You Keep or Stash the Egg?

Now that you’ve got this strange egg, you’ve got two options:
- Hatch it: This turns it into a pet companion with a bit of lore and some fun cosmetic perks.
- Stash it: If you’re not into pets or want to delay hatching, you can drop it in your Stash at the Horns of the South fortress. You can always come back for it later and hatch it when you’re ready.
How to Hatch the Questing Beast Egg

If you decide to hatch the egg, here’s the simple (and kinda nostalgic) process:
- Just walk 5,000 steps with it in your inventory.
- Think Pokémon egg-hatching style — no extra steps needed.
- Once you hit the magic number, rest at a Campfire and enjoy a short cutscene where your new pet buddy bursts out of the egg.
What Does the Questing Beast Pet Do?
Well, it’s mostly there for flavor — but it is adorable.
- You can pet it, have it follow you, or even tell it to do a “trick”, which is unexpectedly wholesome.
- It won’t alert enemies during stealth sections, so it won’t mess with your sneaky playstyle.
- While it’s not a combat ally or anything, it does unlock special dialogue options with the Picts faction down the line.
The Questing Beast Egg is one of those hidden gems in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon that adds a bit of charm to your grim journey.
Whether you decide to hatch it right away or save it for later, having a mythical pet trotting along with you is a fun touch — and who knows, it might come in handy when you least expect it.
