They’re not as common as Restoration or Destruction spells, but if you know where to look—and have enough gold—you can load up on some seriously useful magic.
Mysticism deals with manipulating magical forces, letting you dispel, absorb, or reflect spells, as well as control your surroundings with Telekinesis or Detect Life. It’s also where you’ll find Soul Trap, one of the must-have spells for anyone using enchanted gear, since you’ll need it to fill up Soul Gems.

- Telekinesis can open up some creative quest solutions without having to fight or sneak around.
- Spell Absorption and Spell Reflection are absolutely clutch against tough mage enemies.
- And Soul Trap? Even if you’re not a full-time mage, you’re going to want charged Soul Gems for repairing or recharging enchanted weapons, making it useful for basically everyone.
Mysticism might not get all the flashy attention that Destruction or Conjuration magic does, but it’s one of the most versatile schools once you get your hands on the right spells.
