Bam Margera Confirmed as Unlockable Skater in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remake

Despite rumors of his absence, Bam Margera will appear as a secret skater in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, launching July 11 with updated visuals and gameplay.
Bam Margera Returns as Secret Character in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remake
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is officially dropping on July 11, and fans just got a major piece of nostalgic news — Bam Margera is back. After months of speculation and mixed signals, developer Iron Galaxy confirmed at THPS Fest that the former pro skateboarder and Jackass star will be included as a secret unlockable character in the remake.
A Skateboarding Icon Returns
Bam was a staple of the franchise in the early 2000s, appearing in Pro Skater 3, Pro Skater 4, Tony Hawk’s Underground, and more. But as recently as April, Margera hinted he might not make the cut in the new remake, despite both him and Tony Hawk reportedly being on board.
That sparked concern among longtime fans — not just for nostalgic reasons, but also due to Margera’s well-documented personal and legal troubles in recent years. Still, it seems Tony Hawk himself pushed hard to make sure Bam stayed in the lineup, with Iron Galaxy ultimately confirming the news.
What to Expect from THPS3+4
Much like 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, the new remake brings updated visuals, smoother gameplay, and expanded features to two of the most beloved skateboarding games ever made. At THPS Fest on May 8, fans got an early look at:
- Both campaign modes
- Classic and new parks (including a brand-new one called Waterpark)
- Improved physics and trick animations
- Modern enhancements while preserving the OG vibe
Early impressions are glowing so far, with praise for how the game stays true to the original formula while offering a slick, modern polish.
Unlockable Bam — Not Just Nostalgia
Bam’s inclusion isn’t just a nod to longtime fans — it represents the heart of what made the early THPS games so iconic: a mix of skateboarding culture, wild personalities, and over-the-top fun. While he may not be front and center on the roster this time around, the fact that he’s hidden as a secret skater feels fitting, adding that extra layer of reward for those digging deep into the game.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 launches July 11 on all major platforms.
