Nile Guard is the seventh mission in Battlefield 6’s campaign, and it’s refreshingly straightforward compared to some of the sprawling earlier chapters. Playing as Mul Ibrahim Al-Khatib, you’ll experience the Egyptian armored division’s push to eliminate Pax Armata forces—which means you get to spend quality time in a tank blowing things up.
This is actually one of the shortest missions in the entire game, clocking in at around 15 minutes if you’re moving efficiently. That compact runtime makes it perfect for collectible hunting since you won’t need to invest hours replaying it if you miss something.
Unlike missions like Night Raid (which has four dog tags) or Moving Mountains (also four), Nile Guard only has two dog tag collectibles. Both are found in the second half of the mission after you dismount from your tank and proceed on foot.
Finding both collectibles unlocks the “Campaign – Nile Guard” challenge, which rewards you with Canopy Drop (Vehicle Camo)—a solid cosmetic for your vehicle collection. The mission also features the “Mission Complete 2” challenge that grants Standard Issue (NATO Character), adding to your character skin options.
Here’s exactly where to find both dog tags, along with critical timing information to ensure you don’t accidentally skip the second collectible.
Standard pickup controls across all platforms:
Both dog tags feature the signature shine or glint that makes them easier to spot against the Egyptian environment. When collected, each displays a soldier’s name and date of birth.
Important mission note: Because Nile Guard is so short and compact, there’s minimal risk of getting lost or confused about where collectibles are located. The real challenge is remembering to grab the second dog tag before triggering the mission-ending cutscene. More on that critical detail below.
Location: Next to a tree on the right path after exiting the building
The first collectible becomes accessible after the mission’s tank section concludes. You’ll have spent the first portion of Nile Guard inside an armored vehicle, experiencing the power of Egyptian armor against Pax Armata positions. It’s honestly one of the more satisfying vehicle sequences in the campaign.
Eventually, you’ll need to exit your tank and proceed forward on foot. The gameplay transitions from armored warfare to infantry combat as you approach your objectives.
You’ll enter a building and clear through it. As you emerge from the other side of the building, you’ll see a path branching to the left—this is the route your objective marker is pointing you toward.
Ignore that left path for now.
Instead, look to your right. You should spot a tree in this direction. The tree is your landmark for the first collectible.
Walk toward the tree and you’ll find the first dog tag lying right next to it on the ground. It’s sitting in plain sight once you’re looking in the correct direction, so the glint should be visible against the ground.
Tactical consideration: This area is relatively safe once you’ve cleared the building, so you have time to explore. The tree stands out in the Egyptian landscape, making it a good visual reference point.
This right-path detour is brief—you’re not going far off the beaten track. Once you’ve grabbed the collectible, you can double back and take that left path toward your primary objective.
Skill development: The transition from vehicle to infantry combat in Nile Guard is excellent practice for understanding when to use different approaches. These same judgment calls apply to multiplayer scenarios covered in our all game modes guide.
Location: Inside a building with blue chairs and umbrella out front, stuck on the wall near posters
The second dog tag requires careful attention to avoid missing it permanently (well, until you replay the mission). After grabbing the first collectible and continuing through that right path, you’ll emerge into an open area.
This area is immediately recognizable because:
Step 1: Clear the enemies first. Don’t rush toward the helicopter—you need the area secure to search for the collectible safely.
Step 2: DO NOT APPROACH THE HELICOPTER YET. This is absolutely critical. Getting close to the helicopter triggers a cutscene that immediately ends the mission. If you trigger this cutscene before collecting the second dog tag, you’ll have missed it for this playthrough.
Step 3: Look to the northeast from your position in the open area. You’re searching for a specific building that has:
The blue color scheme makes this building fairly distinctive against the surrounding structures. Egypt has plenty of warm earth tones in its architecture, so the blue furniture stands out.
Step 4: Enter the building. Once inside, scan the walls. You’ll find the second dog tag stuck on the wall next to some posters. The posters serve as your interior landmark—if you’re looking at a wall with posted materials, you’re in the right spot.
Step 5: After collecting the dog tag, NOW you can approach the helicopter to trigger the ending cutscene and complete the mission.
Don’t panic. Here’s the good news:
The mission is only about 15 minutes long. Unlike sprawling chapters that require 45+ minutes to complete, Nile Guard can be replayed quickly to grab any missed collectibles.
Simply use mission select to replay Nile Guard, rush through the tank section and initial combat, and grab that second dog tag before approaching the helicopter this time.
Speedrun tip: Since you already know the mission layout from your first playthrough, your second attempt will be even faster. You can potentially grab both collectibles in under 20 minutes total, making this one of the most replayable missions for completion purposes.
Completing Nile Guard and finding both collectibles unlocks two distinct challenges:
This reward is granted for completing the mission. The Standard Issue NATO character is a clean, professional-looking skin that fits well with the military aesthetic. It’s a solid addition to your character customization options for multiplayer.
NATO-themed skins tend to have more realistic, tactical appearances compared to some of the flashier cosmetic options, making them popular among players who prefer authentic military looks.
This is the reward for finding both dog tags. The Canopy Drop vehicle camo is a cosmetic skin you can apply to your vehicles in multiplayer.
Vehicle camos are underrated cosmetics—they let you personalize your tanks, helicopters, and other vehicles while also potentially providing minor psychological advantages (enemies might hesitate slightly when seeing an unusual camo, giving you milliseconds of reaction time).
If you frequently use vehicles in multiplayer or are working on vehicle-specific challenges, this camo is a nice reward for a relatively small time investment.
Several factors make this mission ideal for players who want to knock out collectibles efficiently:
At approximately 15 minutes, Nile Guard respects your time. You’re not committing to a lengthy mission every time you replay it.
With just two dog tags to find instead of three or four, the collectible hunt is streamlined. You can easily remember both locations after one playthrough.
Both dog tags are found in the mission’s second half, after you dismount from the tank. You don’t need to worry about missing collectibles during the vehicle section.
The mission follows a straightforward path with minimal branching. You’re not navigating complex multi-story buildings or expansive open worlds—just clear the objective, grab the collectibles, extract.
The tank section provides excellent practice for understanding vehicle gameplay mechanics that translate to multiplayer. If you’re working on vehicle-specific challenges or want to improve your armor play, Nile Guard is a low-pressure environment to practice.
While Nile Guard is shorter than most campaign missions, you can still use it effectively for skill development:
The opening vehicle section teaches you:
These skills apply directly to vehicle gameplay in multiplayer modes. Check our all game modes guide to see where armor plays a major role.
The shift from vehicle to on-foot combat demonstrates how to adapt your tactics when your support assets are no longer available. This is crucial for all maps that feature vehicle-to-infantry transition zones.
The helicopter extraction under fire is excellent practice for understanding extraction mechanics that might appear in certain multiplayer modes or challenges.
Playing as an Egyptian military member provides different perspectives on military operations, adding variety to the campaign’s narrative and tactical approaches.
While campaign loadouts are predetermined, you can still develop transferable skills:
Understanding how to coordinate with armor (even AI-controlled) helps when you’re playing Support class in multiplayer—you’ll know how tankers think and where they need assistance.
The building clearances and urban combat sections mirror Assault class gameplay. Practice aggressive but controlled advancement.
The open Egyptian terrain requires different situational awareness than urban combat. These skills help when playing on more open multiplayer maps.
Nile Guard emphasizes completing objectives efficiently—a mindset that translates perfectly to objective-based multiplayer modes.
