Bayonetta Outfits Coming to Stellar Blade November 5 — Full Collab Details & What’s Included

Let’s be real — Bayonetta fans have been in a weird place for a while now. Bayonetta 3 came out in 2022 on Nintendo Switch, and before that? You had to go all the way back to 2014 for Bayonetta 2. That’s a long time between mainline entries for one of the best action franchises gaming has ever produced. And as of right now, there’s still no Bayonetta 4 on the horizon. Hideki Kamiya — the series creator and the brain behind the original — left PlatinumGames back in 2023 and has since moved on to Capcom to work on an Okami sequel. That departure left a lot of question marks hanging over the franchise’s future.

So no, we’re not here to tell you a new Bayonetta game got announced. But we are here with the next best thing for fans who’ve been starving for any sign of the witch: Bayonetta is officially crossing over with Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which hits Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. It’s a proper collaboration with four full outfits for Eve, and it’s completely free across Switch 2, PS5, and PC. Here’s the full breakdown.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition — The Switch 2 Package Explained

First, some context on what Stellar Blade Complete Edition actually is, because this release is doing a lot of work. Shift Up, the Korean developer behind Stellar Blade, is bringing their acclaimed action RPG to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. The original game launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in April 2024 and later made its way to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in June 2025. The Switch 2 version wraps everything up into one definitive package.

The Complete Edition includes all previously released DLC and collaboration content — that means both the NieR: Automata collaboration and the extensive Goddess of Victory: NIKKE crossover are in the box from day one. On top of that, the Complete Edition also bundles in a set of exclusive bonuses that aren’t available in earlier versions:

    • Stargazer outfit set for Eve, Adam, and Lily
    • Half-Rim Glasses, Quadruple Rectangle Earring, and Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for Eve
    • Stargazer and Fluffy Bear Packs for the Drone
    • 2,000 SP EXP and 5,000 Gold

The game is priced at $59.99 / £54.99 / €59.99 and will be available both physically and digitally. The physical edition is a big deal for collectors — the full game is on the cartridge with no downloads required. Zero Game-Key Card nonsense. That’s the kind of respect for physical media that players actually appreciate, especially with the industry trend moving in the other direction. If you pre-order, you also get an early unlock of the Planet Diving Suit (White Edition), Classic Round Glasses, and Ear Armor Earrings for Eve. A Limited Edition SteelBook featuring brand new key art is also available through participating retailers and Panax in limited quantities.

The game will also support Joy-Con 2 motion controls for activities outside of combat, adding an extra layer of immersion that’s unique to the Switch 2 version.

The Bayonetta Collaboration — Four Outfits, Three Revealed

Now for the part Bayonetta fans actually care about. Shift Up revealed during the September 2026 Nintendo Direct that they’re launching a full Bayonetta Nano Suit Collaboration alongside the Switch 2 release. Eve will receive four new Bayonetta-inspired outfits, and all four will drop for free on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC on November 5 at 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET.

Three of the four outfits have already been shown in the new trailer. Based on what’s been confirmed and reported so far, the collaboration includes:

    • Bayonetta (Classic) — Eve dressed in the iconic full one-piece Bayonetta suit, complete with glasses and the signature hairstyle. This is the one that’s going to hit hardest for longtime fans.
    • Bayonetta (Nun) — A second Bayonetta-inspired look pulling from a different outfit in the witch’s wardrobe.
    • Jeanne — A costume based on Bayonetta’s rival and partner, the white-clad Umbra Witch who’s been a core part of the series since the first game.
    • Mystery Outfit — The fourth look is still being kept under wraps by the developers. They’ve confirmed it exists and plan to reveal it at a later date before launch.

These aren’t just palette swaps or minor cosmetic tweaks. The outfits are genuinely designed to capture what makes each Bayonetta character visually iconic and translate that into Stellar Blade’s existing Nano Suit system. Seeing Eve channeling Bayonetta’s energy while slicing through Naytiba on a Nintendo Switch 2 screen is honestly a crossover nobody predicted but everyone should be able to appreciate.

The reason this collaboration carries so much weight is that it’s the first time Bayonetta’s visual identity has shown up in a meaningful new gaming context since Bayonetta 3. With PlatinumGames still quiet on what’s next for the franchise following Kamiya’s departure, this is genuinely as close as fans are going to get to new Bayonetta content for the foreseeable future.

Why This Collab Makes Total Sense

On paper this might seem like a random pairing, but it actually fits together cleanly. Both Bayonetta and Stellar Blade center on powerful, stylish female protagonists who carry action games with strong combat systems and an unapologetically over-the-top aesthetic. Bayonetta is the queen of stylish action — hair-based magic, slow-motion gunplay, absurd boss fights against divine enemies. Stellar Blade’s Eve is cut from a similar cloth — elite warrior, high-damage skill combos, cinematic presentation. The two characters share enough DNA that seeing Eve wear Bayonetta’s gear doesn’t feel forced.

The timing also makes sense for Shift Up. Bringing the Complete Edition to Switch 2 is a massive platform expansion for a game that already did very well on PS5 and PC. Adding a high-profile crossover with one of gaming’s most beloved action heroines gives the package an even bigger hook — especially for Nintendo players who might have missed Stellar Blade during its PlayStation exclusivity window. This is how you make a port feel like an event rather than just a re-release.

And for a deep dive on another wild action game collab making headlines lately, the Resident Evil Requiem experience at Universal Studios Japan is also worth a look.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 — You Can Play It Early

Before the November 5 launch, fans attending Tokyo Game Show 2026 (September 17–21 at Makuhari Messe) will have a chance to go hands-on with Stellar Blade Complete Edition on Switch 2 for the very first time. Shift Up has set up six playable stations at the SEGA/ATLUS booth (Hall 4, 04-N01), with SEGA handling physical distribution in Japan.

Stellar Blade creator and Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung Tae will also make a special appearance on the booth stage on September 20, with Korean-to-Japanese interpretation available. For those who can’t make it to the show, the session will be broadcast live on SEGA Japan’s official YouTube channel. If you’ve been curious about how Stellar Blade performs on Switch 2 hardware, TGS coverage from that event will give you the best early look before the November release.

What About a Real New Bayonetta Game?

Look, we have to address the elephant in the room. The Stellar Blade collaboration is cool, but it’s not a substitute for an actual new Bayonetta adventure, and fans know it. PlatinumGames celebrated Bayonetta’s 15th anniversary back in January 2025 with a promise of future projects and some vague teasing about what comes next for the franchise. But as of now, nothing concrete has been announced.

The situation at PlatinumGames is complicated. Kamiya’s exit in 2023 removed the single most important creative voice tied to the series. Other key figures have reportedly also left the studio in the years since. The company has been in a rebuilding mode, and there are real questions in the community about whether a proper Bayonetta 4 — one that can live up to the legacy of the earlier games — is realistically in the pipeline under current conditions.

That said, PlatinumGames still owns the franchise alongside Nintendo, and Bayonetta remains one of gaming’s most recognizable action heroes. It would be genuinely surprising if the series just ended at Bayonetta 3. The Stellar Blade collaboration might actually be a signal that the IP is being kept visible and active in the gaming space while something bigger gets worked on behind closed doors. Or it might just be a crossover. It’s hard to say right now.

Either way, November 5 is shaping up to be a date worth circling on the calendar — whether you’re a Stellar Blade fan picking up the definitive version for the first time, a returning player jumping back in for the Bayonetta outfits, or a witch fan who just wants to see their favorite character showing up in new places while we wait for the real thing. The mystery fourth outfit reveal is also still coming before launch, so there’s at least one more Bayonetta surprise on the way before the year is out.

Pre-orders for Stellar Blade Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 are open now through the eShop and at participating retailers. Lock in early if you want that Planet Diving Suit (White Edition) and accessories unlocked on day one.
