Master SDU Token collection in Borderlands 4 with our complete guide. Learn all 13 methods to upgrade ammo capacity, backpack space, and bank storage efficiently.
SDU Tokens are Borderlands 4’s upgrade currency for increasing ammo capacity, inventory space, and storage. There are 13 different activities across Kairos that reward tokens, totaling 1,050 SDU Tokens available. Focus on high-value activities like Safehouses (40 tokens each) and Order Silos (40 tokens each) first, then work your way down to smaller rewards like Vault Symbols (5 tokens each).
If you’ve played previous Borderlands games, you know the struggle: amazing loot everywhere, but never enough space to carry it all. SDU (Storage Deck Upgrade) Tokens solve this problem by letting you upgrade your carrying capacity for weapons, ammo, and items.
In Borderlands 4’s open-world design, these upgrades become even more crucial. You’ll be exploring vast regions, tackling multiple activities, and discovering tons of gear. Without proper SDU upgrades, you’ll spend more time managing inventory than actually playing.
What SDU Tokens Upgrade:
What You Get: 40 SDU Tokens per Safehouse Total Available: 14 Safehouses across all regions How It Works: Find a Datapad, then locate the command console to claim ownership
Pro Tip: Safehouses also serve as fast travel points and respawn locations, making them essential for exploration. Prioritize these since they offer the highest total token reward (560 tokens combined).
