Control Resonant SR Keycard – Quick Answer
The full route to get the SR Keycard is:
- Start The Complete Set at the Museum of Curiosities in the West Incursion Zone
- Travel to Dense Patterning and enter the Auction House
- Capture the Altered Speaker and collect the notes
- Leave the Auction House — Zoe will contact Dylan

- Fast travel to Central Executive in the Oldest House
- Head down to Executive Research and find the SR storage room
- Open the door and collect the Altered Subwoofer inside
No puzzle, no boss, no hidden room to search. The card comes directly from a conversation with Langston once you have progressed far enough into The Complete Set.
What Is the SR Keycard in Control Resonant?
SR stands for Storage Room. The card unlocks a specific storage room in the Executive Research section of the Oldest House — it does not open general clearance doors around the building.
Inside the SR storage room you will find the Altered Subwoofer, which is a required item for progressing The Complete Set side story. The room also contains lore documents connected to the Altered Item and the FBC’s history with it.
If you found the SR door early and could not open it, that is completely normal. The card does not exist as a standalone pickup you can stumble across. You have to earn it through the quest.
Before You Start – You Need the Shift Ability
There is one important requirement before you can progress The Complete Set far enough to get the card.
The Auction House area where the quest takes place requires the Shift ability to reach. Shift is obtained by completing the Incursion Fault side quest. If you try to reach the Auction House without Shift, you will not be able to get there.
So if The Complete Set quest area seems unreachable right now: get Shift first, then come back.

Step-by-Step Guide – How to Get the Clearance Level SR Keycard
Step 1 – Start The Complete Set at the Museum of Curiosities
Head to the Museum of Curiosities in the West Incursion Zone. This is where The Complete Set side story begins. Make sure you have the Shift ability before heading here or you will not be able to reach the next area.
Step 2 – Travel to Dense Patterning and Find the Auction House
Once The Complete Set is active, travel to the Dense Patterning area in the northwest part of Downtown. Look for a warehouse-like building — when you discover it, the map identifies it as the Auction House. Enter the building.
Inside you will find a woman standing in a strange trance-like state. Interact with her. This officially triggers The Complete Set and begins the objectives inside the Auction House.
Step 3 – Capture the Altered Speaker
Your first main objective inside the Auction House is to capture the Altered Speaker. This is an Altered Item located inside the building. Follow the quest objective marker and capture it to complete the opening sequence of the quest.
Step 4 – Collect the Notes
After dealing with the Altered Speaker, search around the woman in the trance. You will find notes nearby — pick them up and read them. These notes add new objectives to The Complete Set and move the quest forward toward the SR Keycard.
Step 5 – Leave the Auction House
Once you have completed the initial Auction House objectives, leave the building. You do not need to keep searching inside. As soon as you exit, Zoe contacts Dylan and tells him to speak with Langston at the FBC Field Office in Central. Your quest log will update with the new objective marker.
Step 6 – Visit Langston at the FBC Field Office
Travel to the FBC Field Office in Central and speak with Langston while The Complete Set is your active mission. This conversation is where the keycard actually changes hands — Langston gives Dylan the Clearance Level SR Keycard during the dialogue.
No puzzle. No boss. No extra steps. Just the conversation.
Step 7 – Fast Travel to Central Executive in the Oldest House
Now that you have the SR Keycard, fast travel back to Central Executive in the Oldest House. From there, take the elevator down toward Executive Research. That is where the SR storage room is located.
Step 8 – Find the SR Storage Room and Open It
In Executive Research, look for the area containing the security and office sections. The SR-marked storage room is near the open Shelter — the door clearly displays the SR clearance requirement. Use the keycard to open it.
Step 9 – Collect the Altered Subwoofer
Inside the storage room you will find the Altered Subwoofer along with documents and lore files about its history. Interact with the Subwoofer to trigger the next part of the encounter. You will need to deal with the Hiss and then chase and capture the Subwoofer. That advances The Complete Set to the next stage.

What If You Already Found the SR Door?
If you discovered the SR storage room door before starting The Complete Set, that is completely normal. Control Resonant places clearance doors throughout the world before you have the cards to open them.
There is nothing to worry about. The door is not missable. Start The Complete Set, progress it to the Langston conversation, collect the card, and then come back to the door whenever you are ready.
Do You Need to Finish the Main Story First?
No. The SR Keycard is tied entirely to The Complete Set side story, not the main story. You can pursue it at any point after you have the Shift ability and have found the Museum of Curiosities.
SR Keycard vs Level 6 Keycard – What Is the Difference?
These are two completely separate cards that open different types of doors. Players sometimes confuse them because both are tied to side stories rather than the main quest.
- Clearance Level 6: Obtained during the New Growth side story by investigating Dr. Underhill’s last known location in The Park. Opens Level 6 doors throughout the Oldest House including Dr. Underhill’s Office and an optional office in Central Executive.
- Clearance Level SR: Obtained from Langston during The Complete Set side story. Opens the specific SR storage room in Executive Research.
If you are still looking for the Level 6 card, our Control Resonant Clearance Level 6 Keycard guide walks through exactly where to find it and how to start New Growth.
What About Clearance Level 18?
You will encounter Level 18 doors in the Oldest House and might assume there is a card to unlock them. There is not. Dylan does not receive a Level 18 keycard. Some Level 18 doors are opened by NPCs who have their own clearance. Others appear to remain permanently inaccessible.
If you have collected every obtainable clearance card and still see Level 18 doors, you have not missed anything — those doors simply cannot be opened by Dylan.
All Clearance Keycards in Control Resonant
- Level 1: Main story — The West Incursion Zone Resonant
- Level 2: Main story — Evacuation Procedures
- Level 6: New Growth side story → The Park → Underhill investigation table
- Mobile Research Station: Crossing the Threshold
- Storage Room (SR): The Complete Set → Langston at the FBC Field Office
The SR card is one of only two clearance cards tied to optional side story content. Level 1 and Level 2 come through mandatory story progression, while Level 6 and SR both require you to seek out specific side quests.
