Pearl Abyss has pushed out another update for Crimson Desert, and this one is available to download right now across all platforms — PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Mac App Store), PlayStation, and Xbox. Version 1.13.01 is a hotfix that rolled out on July 8, 2026, following closely behind the bigger 1.13.00 patch that dropped on July 3. It’s a smaller release this time around, but if you’ve been hitting any of the issues it addresses, you’ll be glad it’s here.
The studio has been impressively consistent with post-launch support since Crimson Desert launched back in March. Rather than sticking to a rigid content roadmap, Pearl Abyss has been reacting quickly to player feedback — pushing out fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and new content at a pace that’s honestly refreshing for the genre. This latest hotfix keeps that momentum going, even if it’s not the headline-grabbing content drop some fans are waiting for.
Crimson Desert Update 1.13.01 — Full Patch Notes
Here’s everything fixed in version 1.13.01:
- Bear mount crash fix: Fixed an issue where the game would occasionally crash when riding a bear.
- Rendering issues on consoles and AMD systems: Fixed an issue where characters would occasionally be rendered incorrectly on consoles and AMD-based systems.
- Oongka companion fix: Fixed an issue where Oongka would not follow Kliff during certain main quest cutscenes.
- Challenge rewards not being issued: Fixed an issue where rewards for completing certain challenges were not given.
- Hoenmark Ruins liberation bug: Fixed an issue where the Hoenmark Ruins could not be liberated.
- Ranch feed bin bug: Fixed an issue where the amount of feed in the feed bin would not decrease even when livestock on the ranch were eating near it.
- Frame rate drops: Improved an issue where frame rates would drop in certain environments.
Nothing massive here, but several of these bugs were legitimately annoying. The bear mount crash in particular was a frustrating one — if you’re playing on console with a quality controller, the last thing you want is your game crashing mid-ride. The Oongka cutscene fix is also quietly significant because companion AI and integration has been a focal point of Pearl Abyss’ updates since launch, and breaking immersion during main quest scenes is the kind of thing that sticks out immediately.
What Changed in Crimson Desert 1.13.00 Before This Hotfix
To understand why 1.13.01 exists, it helps to know what 1.13.00 brought to the table when it landed on July 3. That was a much larger update with actual content additions — the kind of patch that gives players a reason to jump back in. The headline features from 1.13.00 included:
- Oongka and Damiane can now enter the Abyss, with Memory Fragment locations for certain rematchable bosses adjusted accordingly.
- 39 new equipment pieces added for Kliff and Oongka, including boss armor from characters like Cassius Morten, Lucian Bastier, Tarandus the Ashen, and Gregor, Halberd of Carnage.
- Oongka can now equip most outfits previously exclusive to Kliff.
- New Hunter’s Sigil item that lets bird pets retrieve prey and gatherable items matching their specialties.
- Hide Minimap and Status option added under Settings for a cleaner HUD.
- Various companion AI improvements, UI refinements, and bug fixes across the board.
The 1.13.01 hotfix came in to clean up some issues that slipped through with that bigger patch — which is completely normal for updates of that scope. Pearl Abyss turned the fix around in about five days, which is the kind of studio responsiveness that has kept the Crimson Desert community largely satisfied since launch.
Known Issues Still Present After 1.13.01
Even with this hotfix, Pearl Abyss has acknowledged a few remaining known issues that haven’t been resolved yet:
- AMD driver crash: The game crashes when using AMD driver version 26.6.2 or higher (including the 26.6.3 hotfix). Pearl Abyss recommends staying on driver version 26.6.1 or earlier until AMD resolves this on their end.
- Pet bed interaction bug: When a pet jumps onto the bed while the player is interacting with it, the character cannot be controlled. Unsummoning the pet temporarily fixes this.
- Fishing area bug: Fish caught in certain areas are unable to move.
- Greymane faction quests: Cannot be progressed while playing as Damiane or Oongka.
- Evasion control bug: If Evasion Control is set to “Hold,” the default Evasion key still functions even after reassigning the key.
- Damiane shield bug: If Damiane dies immediately after using the Shield Toss skill, she can no longer use her shield or related skills.
These are worth knowing about if you’re actively playing as Damiane or if you’re on AMD hardware. The driver issue especially is something to keep an eye on — it’s technically on AMD’s side to fix, but it’s affecting real players right now.

Is Crimson Desert Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
Beyond the patch itself, there’s bigger news floating around that the community has been buzzing about. Pearl Abyss CEO Huh Jin-young addressed shareholders in a recent Q&A about the possibility of a Crimson Desert Nintendo Switch 2 port. The short version: it’s being actively reviewed. According to the CEO, the development team has confirmed that basic gameplay is already playable on Switch 2 hardware, but there’s still significant optimization work remaining before Pearl Abyss would consider it ready by their internal standards.
This is one of those situations where it’s clearly not a “no” — it’s more of a “not yet.” For a game as visually demanding as Crimson Desert, getting it running well on Switch 2 would be a genuine technical achievement, but Pearl Abyss has earned some goodwill here given how well they’ve managed the base game’s optimization since launch.
Crimson Desert DLC — What We Know So Far
Fans have also been waiting on any kind of real detail about the confirmed DLC that Pearl Abyss has been teasing. Will Powers, Director of Marketing and PR at Pearl Abyss, has gone on record calling it “DLC” specifically — not just a content update — and hinted that there’s a meaningful reason why they’re drawing that distinction. He described it as something different from everything that’s been released as post-launch support so far.
That’s still pretty thin on detail, but it does tell you something: this isn’t going to be another patch or free content drop. It sounds like a more substantial, standalone expansion of some kind. Pearl Abyss hasn’t given a timeline yet, but between this DLC confirmation, the Switch 2 port discussions, and the steady stream of update support, Crimson Desert’s long-term content picture is looking considerably more active than many games at this stage post-launch.
How Pearl Abyss Has Handled Crimson Desert Post-Launch
It’s worth stepping back and appreciating what Pearl Abyss has done here since March. Rather than locking in a rigid content roadmap and forcing players to wait for quarterly drops, they’ve been operating reactively — listening to community feedback and pushing updates that actually address the specific problems players are reporting. The result has been a consistent stream of patches across every version: 1.10.00, 1.10.01, 1.11.00, 1.12.00, 1.12.01, 1.12.02, 1.13.00, and now 1.13.01.
That cadence is genuinely impressive for a studio of their size managing a cross-platform open-world RPG. If you bounced off Crimson Desert at launch and haven’t been back, the game looks meaningfully different now — smoother, more feature-complete, with companions that actually feel integrated into the full experience rather than tacked on.
If you’re the kind of
